I found it very funny (and pathetic) how much people wear their kimono/yukata with right part over left. Especially when it's someone who looks like he's asian (who I think really should KNOW this).
Right over left is for dead people right? Though in Bleach they could even wear it like that, when they're all dead
Also, nice tutorial :3 (It's really painfull to see someone wearing this type of clothes wrong way.)

Oh god me too.Β
Yeah that's the kind of ironic thing with Bleach. But I think we go on the belief that they're living souls...... (well it's fantasy so we have to suspend reality for a bit anyway.)
Thank you. It really bugs the heck out of me. The worst, Absolute worst is when they wear it all sloppy and not tucked in. Β It's so so sloppy. In Bleach at least the Gotei 13 is a military group there are standards you must abide by or you get severely punished. Β

Thanks for the info! I had no idea about the left-over-right thing. I learned something today! XD

this is great, not only for cosplayers but also to have a better understanding of what you are drawing

Actually, if you remember the text you used to make this, you can erase the "a" in "kasode" and switch it with the "o" to make "kosode."
It's how I fix most of my errors in a Paint picture, at least.

but then i'd have to reupload it all over the place and well.............i'm far to lazy a person to do that.
plus i honestly don't remember. and i always have trouble lining things back up.... *whinewhinewhine* ok i'll shut up on the excuses. let's just leave it at i'm too much of a lazy ass to go back and change it now.

Not really. All you'd have to on dA is upload the edited version to the file upload section of the Edit Deviation area and select it as the newer version.
I've actually used that method more than once.

Glad I'm not the only person bothered by this. Though most offended of "the stripe" are kosode with white trim on the edge. My favorite is when they don't even tuck the kosode into the hakama and have to tie a white obi on the outside to kinda match the reference.

seems like there's actually quite a few who it bothers. yeah i hate the stripe/trim thing too.
omg i know i absolutely hate when i see them not tucked in. it's so sloppy and lazy looking.
how hard is it to look at a scene from the anime/manga to see how it should look?

no problem. it's been something that just bugs my OCD something horrible. and i've been telling my RP partners that i was going to do it. the last straw came the day i made this *what prompted me to get motivated* was a person who looked spot on character but the costume was just so horrible i almost cried.
i agree about the accuracy part. it's so much more enjoyable when you don't have to cringe.

Thank you, I thought I was the only one! I'm hand-making my Rukia cosplay purely because all the websites I've seen to buy the costume have had the 1 layer kimono shirt with the white stripe . . . and in inaccuracy makes me rage.
Though, I've had cosplayer friends tell me the slight inaccuracies are to avoid copyright issues or something -__- Which I do not believe really . . .

it's possibly a copyright issue, but i think it's more just laziness and cost consideration on the part of the manufacture.
plus it's the whole "oh is just kids dressing up in costumes if they want realistic they'll have to do it their-selves" kinda thing.
no it's not just you. i really have to bite my tongue *metaphorically* but it really makes my OCD go ballistic.

yeah i guess they do, honestly i'm not really a cosplayer, for several reasons, but if i did i'd want to to be as close to exact as i could possibly get it.
i know some basic sewing, but it's been years.
plus if you really, really want to go authentic there's shops that sell the parts separate like karate gi..... hakama and tops. even on ebay.
just put the thing together that way.
