Tch.. Yeah.I haven't posted anything on here in a long time so I thought I may as well put this up.
This is the start of my Edward Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist cosplay.
I have worked so bloody hard on this and I have to say I'm rather happy with how it's turned out!
It's made from Depron foam that comes in giant flat sheets, that I cut into patterns and then used a hair dryer to bend into the proper shapes. It took a fair amount of time to do and I almost burnt my hand off a few times but that's all I'm saying. :L
I know it's maybe a little too silver and shiny and that I need to "weather" it a bit to make it look more used and older and darker to be more like the character, but honestly, for only my second project with foam, I think it's gone well.

I'm gonna be honest, I started that cause I was bored and couldn't be bothered studying. I now have FOUR exams this week (technically) and I'm gonna hate myself when my results come through.. Geh. Ah well. (:
Well considering we were aiming to do it for.. collectormania, which is mid to end August and both our exams are done by the 2nd since mine are done on the 26th.. We have like.. almost three months. As in, almost quarter of a year. Minus when you're on holidayy. Failing that, I have the patterns for Zelda.
We could make patterns out of card and maskting tape for samus first to make sure the movement is okay? that would be the hardest part also. The joints and being semi comfortable cause I know ^ that isn't as complicated, but it's still fairly uncomfortable to wear in comparison to being without. :L

Can't believe in total materials this has cost me less than a fiver so far.
Beginning to think that Samus wouldn't be so hard nor so expensive after all if we did it this way. Good lord. :L Lawl.

It would be a serious load of work, but I'll be honest, the majority of it would be working out patterns and sizes, looking up similar templates that other people have made, and modifying... ( but considering, minus maybe a few inches of height. grrrrrr. We're about the same size.) And a fair amount of paint thrown in...
I'm currently waiting on my dad to take me to the bank so I can order an ouran blazer. I'm not even kidding. It's 12quid for the blazer, shirt and tie instead of £45 AND free shipping. Died inside a bit when I saw it..
