OMG!! My old characters from an original story from what feels like forever ago. ;_; The story was called "Skeleton Key" and it was about a college student that stumbles upon a portal in her new home that lead into another world where monsters ruled and her crazy adventures that ensue after her discovery. The story goes A LOT deeper, but Holy shit, I've missed these guys!

1. Mermaid Queen She actually never had an official name, but she was a very important character to the story. She's the Queen of "The Aquatic Capital" meaning that she ruled over all water monsters. She's also blind and is secretly dating Kojack, the werewolf king of the "Wildlife Capital."

2. The Goddess and Demigod Breya, the one on the right, and Hotah, on the left, are actually very important gods in this realm. Breya is the Goddess of everything good and innocent and Hotah is a demigod of loyalty and protection. I never officially decided if I wanted to make this couple cannon or not, I still thought they'd be cute together. <3 This doodle was just to play with the idea.

3. Lillium Babcock An escaped asylum patient, Lillium was tricked into joining a circus by an evil ring master who had a sick fascination with mental illnesses. Her design is one of my favorites out of all my characters!

4. Carter McCaffery Oh, gosh. One of the most eccentric characters to exist in this world. Though furiously loyal and kind, Carter is by far one of the most annoying people you will ever meet, but he has a way of worming his way into your heart. He's a vampire and a MAJOR ladies man. He's not afraid to be himself and keeps an outgoing attitude even though his history holds a lot of tragedy and betrayal. Quite honestly, he is one of my favorite characters that I have. (BONUS FACT! I originally created him for RPing on Neopets.)

5. Taurus Okay, I cheated . . . He's actually not part of Skeleton Key; he's actually part of another story I came up with about my friends and me in a fantasy world and he was one of the characters in that story. I really liked his design so I added him to this picture . . . Moving on!

6. Moulder the Fallen Demigod Moulder, or once known as "Montani," is a marble fox demigod of charity, but ironically enough, had fallen from grace due to his attempt to steal "gifts" from the Good Goddess Breya. He's now a minor agent of Alvah. (You'll learn about her soon.)

7. DD and Debbie HNNNNNNNGH these two babies! DD is a mother figure in another circus lead by Ringmaster Drezdan. She's a ragdoll with no recollection of her past, but has an ambitious goal to become a famous performer. Debbie is an orphan who ran into the circus after running away from her orphanage (again) and ended up staying on her own free whim. Debbie is a free spirit with an unhealthy amount of curiousity. (She also has an INCREDABLE talent for singing.) These two are basically like mother and daughter and are often seen together when they're not performing in the ring.

8. Hotah Just testing out designs and stuff. Hotah actually takes on the image of an owl since that was the spirit animal of his old tribe back when he was alive.

9. Nicodemus A spoiled brat and the older brother to on of the main characters, Nic is a rare shape-shifter that can change into any humanoid thing. (Shape-shifters in this world only has one specific thing that they can change into, i.e, animals, inanimate objects, elements, etc, etc.) He's a brat and a turd.

10. Kiddo She's crazy and chaotic. She's actually not a character in Skeleton Key, but I really wanted to find a place for her in that world because I loved her so much. She was actually a character I played in a game of Pathfinder and I grew very attached to her because she was so cute and crazy! She's a barbarian kid who carries around a huge hammer that she's far too eager to use constantly. Besides her violent tendencies, she's super fun and funny to hang around with. <3 She'll have a home in SK soon enough.

11. Baby Saul Nicodemus's younger brother, Saul, is one of the main characters in Skeleton Key. Ill-tempered and a smart-mouthed stick-in-the-mud, he does hold a bit of a tragic past since his parents considered him to be a mistake since he wasn't like his brother. (Meaning he wasn't a rare shape-shifter, in fact he's one of the more common ones; an animal shifter.) Though he can be extremely rough around the edges, he does have a soft center since he cares deeply for his friends. This is just a scene from his past when he was younger. :,(

12. Breya and Alvah Sister goddesses who are complete opposites; Breya, the good and innocent, and Alvah, the goddess of corruption and betrayal.

13. Drezdan and Kat This picture. THIS. PICTURE. It gets me. Drezdan, hands down, is my absolute favorite out of all my characters. His backstory is one of THE most tragic I've every come up with, from his mother going to an evil voodoo priest in desperation to conceive a child, to having an uncontrollable curse to drain people of their sanity which resulted in his mother's death after she had died, to witnessing his father's suicide, and watching everyone he's ever loved die because of something he cannot control. He smiles and laughs and gives off the idea that he's just an insane man without a single worry in the world, but inside, he's suffering in the worst kind of hell. This doodle is him when his insanity and loneliness gets the better of him and Kat, one of the oldest members of his circus, tries to comfort him since she's embedded deep into his past and knows what he's gone through since she watched it all unfold. This scene just breaks my heart. GAH! I wish I could go more into it, but I REALLY want to continue with this story and not spoil any more than I have already! Just know that this is probably one of the most tear-jerking moments in this ark.
