That is not blood, as you can see she is holding a smashed cherry. Given that the cherry normally goes on top, I figured people would understand that that is indeed cherry juice from a popped cherry that was above her head. So all of your blood ideas don't really stand because there is no wound and it is not blood.
As far as casting shadows, if there is more than one light source (like in most of the work I do) there would not be a significant shadow cast.. You can see examples of this in basic photography as well. You also do not know the size of the room, it looks small but it could be huge, so again no significant shadow casting would occur. I do agree more should be under the cupcake.

I don't mind if people get my work tattooed on them. There are a couple of conditions like, the tattoo artist can not reuse or keep the design, the person getting the tattoo has to show me pictures so I can put it in my portfolio and the person must post at least one link to my gallery where they post their pictures of it.

To me it feels like the girl on the cupcake started out happy, just waiting to be taken out of the box, but then realized that no one would show up, because nobody cared. thats just how i see it though. its a wonderful piece of art.

Your Symbology (hee) can easily be interpreted in a bazillion ways, but a couple really stick out to me.

this is just amazing hun.. the colors and everything go so well together !! i really love her expression to, sorta sad to be coming out of her bloody Cupcake but to me it's like idk how to fully explain it.. i might sound retarded but what i see in this picture is this girl having her cherry pop.. meaning to me that she has just lost her virginity or something.. since she is getting married.. idk i might be confusing but thats what i get from it.. :S
