I used to have like six of these, until eventually they grew to an enormous size and no longer fit in their little "pool". Then I set them free on a large artificial lake not far from here which is known to have other turtles of that same species.
You'd be surprised how big they can get..... I've seen them so big they could bite two fingers off your hand.

Yeah we already have a large 20 gallon tank for him and he's still so little. Eventually the boyfriend wants to buy him a kiddie pool

Look on the brighter side.... once you have a kiddie pool full of gigantic carnivorous turtles, there are uses!.....

....but this is because I lived on Rocko's Modern Life as a youngster,and if I ever got a turtle,that is what I would name him. or her. whatever.
Very nice shot,I think that eye has the look of death in it though. 'Stop taking pictures and GET ME SOME DAMN FOOD!' is how I interpret it.
...Then again,I've got 5 dogs,a cat and a guinea pig. I'm my pets' bitch and I know it.

well,except for here in redneck land,where most animals are tied to a 2 ft rope outside with no water and food in scorching temperatures and in the middle of a death-trap-like junkyard that's the back yard,with no shade.
..then you've got people like us,in our neighborhood,with outside pens as long and as wide as their houses are,and dogs that have to be tethered on 20-40 ft light-weight chain...>>

for the name, i would go with kiwi.. but mine aren't very inventive.
i have number one and number two...
they're amusing as hell, espically when they're cold or very very warm.

Yoda Yoda Yoda! Go with Yoda! ahahahahahahahahaha. Such a great name! The person who selected this as a DD said the turtle had attitude, so his/her name should reflect that attitude. (And I think Yoda is a more interesting name for a turtle than Kiwi.)
