Description this was inspired by an old poem i have written. like over ten years ago. i did a rough translation of the poem, and i'm suspecting now that it was originally written in English. why? lookie:

alice is dead

she took me to her room
full of black roses
and the scent of a recent bloom.

she said she's dead
she's happy
no chains no head.

and it surely doesn't rhyme in Finnish. or then it is just weird.

it is all about losing a friend. and no, she didn't die.

and yes, i have a big head too.

dude thats cool , just wondering though howcome the other person's head is missing? like obviously it symbolises a whole heap of stuff but yeah

well, she lost her head a long before she died. you know, it's like evolution, if you don't use something, it becomes unnecessary and slowly disappears.

I like the way you did the hair. And for some reason this makes me think of The Shinning.

I think i can relate to your poem right now, perhaps im readng it in my own way. As usual i love the drawing, and i like how theres a poem to accompany your thoughts.

i think reading it in your own way is good. i don't like putting ideas to people's heads, i want people to use their own imaginationa to see things in their own way.

I think thats a nice way to make art, that way everyone "owns" a little piece of the artwork, they can see themselves in it or whatever, i like knowing how the artist intended it too though

Errr... I just used an excessive amount of water/not really that much water at all, with a really small brush and I did small areas at a time. Basically everything you're not supposed to do with watercolours. This is also done on watercolour paper, which made the inking kinda hellish, but watercolours don't look so nice on bristol. :/

Test it first on somewhere else.

Sotkettu [2006-08-01 17:12:51 +0000 UTC]

Hmm. Itsekin olen kirjoitellut joitain vanhoja runojani paperilappusilta tietokoneelle muistiin. Mutta ne runot olivat 99% englanniksi. Ehkä ne paranisivat, jos riimittelisin ne suomeksi! Tuskinpa sentään...

misskeima In reply to Sotkettu [2006-08-04 16:20:48 +0000 UTC]

Minä nyt en oo mikään runoilija ja mun suurin osa runoista on aika köpöjä. Mutta näköjään niitä voi silti kuvittaa.

Kiitoskia.
