I like this one. I like the shapes that this picture has, with the shape of her hair and her being ghostly and the overall shape of the drawing, and how much hair she has that it's spread out like this this wide and still isn't full of gaps ad stuff.

Evie is probably my favorite sketch-scan-sai piece. Many of them I go to do on paper never come out how I wanted. She did. As did Vesta the candle nymph. I should kick myself in the butt to work on their stories...
The whole idea I had with Evie was when I first saw her, I imagined this wide wash of auburn hair that floated around her. It was thick, it was lovely. I have a bit of a thing for thick hair. My namesake first OC Monie has long, flowing, raven hair. Honestly, it's probably a self thing since I make a bet with myself how long I can grow my hair until I donate it.
I did want her to look transparent though, and given what I've learned since I first made her, I think I can make many more pieces featuring her in different transparencies.

She looks so lovely, the expression on her face is very sweet and I especially like her eyes, they make her look so adorable.
The colors you have used complement each other very well. Her proportions are also good, the only thing is, that the right side of her upper body might look a little to wide, and from the position she is standing in, or more accurately from the position she is floating in, 
I really like the 'mermaid way' you made her, how her upper body looks human and her 'tail' is more ghostlike, and the shape of her is so beautifully balanced with the hair and the ghost tail, it looks very harmoniously, and I love how she is floating in the space, so peaceful!

Yes, my anatomy can be...wobbly when I free hand. If I don't use some kind of stock, it can kind of do whatever it wants, and then I never really notice until I'm done. But, I have been trying to reign that in lately, though a lot of my recent stuff has been dirty...
Thank you, dear~ I had to draw her tail a few times to get it where I wanted. It felt right to give it to her and to have it going out the way it is. I think this was the part where I saw her in my head reveal herself to the man come to buy her old house.
Β Her story, her name is Evette, is a tragic love story. Her first love was coming home from travel or war that day and sent word. She was so excited, she ran down the stairs, tripping, and breaking her neck. He was so sad that she had died, he stayed on the property, but never went in the house again. She watched from the windows, unable to leave. He spent many of his years watching over the house and grieving until finally he couldn't do it anymore. He had become an old man ready to die. So he sold their home.
Now the new owner took over, and began to find things Evie had left behind. Mementos (the name of the story when I get down to writing it) for her first love, and letters she managed to write as a ghost. He becomes curious about this, and the fact he sees strange things, and goes on a hunt to uncover the mystery. And one night, he meets her.

I tend to struggle a lot then I draw bodies without references to, so stock photos can be a lifesaver in those cases!

*paps* I was never a student, but I took art five times in high school. Was supposed to only be four times, but I managed to get it both semesters once.
I tend to have some background noise, whether it be the TV or music, in hpes to avoid over thinking like I do when I write.
