Thank you for letting us know about how to sculpt on to the munny. I will try it out this weekend. I was trying to figure out how to do that. I made the pieces and then baked them. Then I glued them on and it didn't look as good. I just started messing around with them and plan to post up what I got so far this weekend and I am looking for ideas and the whole pan thing looks cool.

You did a great job.

I have a question for you with the way you cured your sculpey on the munny doll: did you encounter any problems with baking it? Since the doll is vinyl I'm a little wary of putting mine in the oven.

The melting point for vinyl is 300 degrees F, and the recommended baking temp for super sculpey is 275F. As long as you bake it at the proper temperature you will not have any problems. That being said, I bake my Munnys at a lower temp of 225F and for a little longer than recommended just to be on the safe side. I also would advise you to separate the head and body before baking, if you can. The vinyl will get a little soft in the oven, but I have never had any issues with it retaining its shape, even on figures with very heavy sculpting. Just make sure you let it cool thoroughly before handling it. You should not have any problems.

how do you get the sculpy to dry?

You bake it in the oven. As long as the temp doesn't exceed 250F the Munny will stay intact.

I really like how you painted his face. It can be difficult painting Munnies to make it look as though they have differently shaped faces, but you definitely pulled it off here.

There is actually a little sculpting over the face here too.

That's really cool, all you need is the pan flute

Actually the accessory that came with that one was the pitchfork so that worked out pretty well. We mostly get hats, we have like 5 of that newsboy style hat (it inspired my boyfriend to make a Super Mario munny which turned out KILLER) I hate those stupid hats though. I want the frying pan <

Just out of curiosity, I've been wondering...how do you bake the sculpey onto the munny, or get it to stay the right shape to glue it later...? o-o

Well, you sculpt onto the Munny, then put the whole thing in the oven. The melting point of the vinyl is higher than the temperature which you bake the sclupy at so as long as you keep the oven below 250, the sculpy will harden and the munny will stay intact. (Although it is a bit soft when you first take it out so you have to be sure nothing happens to it while it's cooling off) For more "top heavy" designs I like to take the head off while baking so the figure doesn't topple over in the oven.
Yup. That's how you do it.
