well they aren't using their birth name anymore? i like to headcanon them as a nonbinary trans boy, since they has been a boy in every other voltron series and it would be very nice to have some trans representation on the media, but some people like to read them as a cis girl - which i find kind of odd honestly - so yeah, it depends of your thoughts, in my opinion
