Description Where are you Spider-Man? I really enjoyed these movies when they came out, 3 not so much for obvious reasons but yeah they had a good run. Hopefully Marc Webb will kill it, the trailer looks good, nice cinematography and choreography.

This piece took a while, I tried so many different things colourwise until I finally settled on this. I wish I'd made Sandman and Dock Ock more dynamic though, montage type images are hectic. This was good practice for likenesses which I am not good at....yet, I'll be working on those in future.

The only reason they're doing these new Spiderman movies was because SONY was going to loose their rights to the character if they didn't do another, so they signed up again for 3 more. Eventually Disney lawyers might see to it that FOX releases their rights to Fantastic Four and X-Men, so they can have all the Marvel universe under one movie studio, thus keep integrating the characters together in the movies they make.

Because The Originial Spider-Man Franchise existed not to keep the rights and make money?Dude, the only reason Spider-Man 4 was going to happen was because Spider-Shit 3 made money because it was the sequel to a good movie.

The studios make these movies hoping they'll turn out with a huge profit at the box office and also on the licensed merchandise and later the DVD and Bluray sales. They don't make them to loose money, but it depends on the talent of all the main people involved and hoping that studio executives do not take any creative command, otherwise you have horrible things like the newest Fantastic Four, or yeas ago that awful Catwoman movie.

E-Ocasio In reply to ElyAxa [2016-05-10 04:30:01 +0000 UTC]

Most of the superhero movies or even TV shows that go bad is due to the fact that the creative people involved do not know the original source material in the comics, the core of the stories that defined the character(s) and made them world famous in the first place; also studio executives step in making a lot of creative changes on something they know nothing about., since they're really businessmen., not actors, not directors, nor writers.

I just love those bad guys!

This version of Sandman makes my top 10 sympathetic villains! Doc Ock and Harry Osborn make an honorable mention in that category, even if they aren't in the top 10.

Yeah Thomas Haden Church was great butย  I'd rate Molina's Ock as a better villain. Harry I preferred when he was just Evil Harry as opposed to New Goblin or whatever you call him.

It was a wasted opportunity, they could have done so much better. Instead of doing something different they just remade the first movie with different characters serving the same purpose. I could go on for days about what I disliked about it.

Actually it was because due to disagreements between Sony and Raimi because they couldn't produce a script that Sam liked for the fourth film.

Well, I fell that the first half is kinda wasted, even it's obvious they wanted to try new things .
I personnaly just would have skipped the origins part, or place it by flashbacks during the opening . I mean, everybody knows Spider-Man's story .
I still feel that there is potential in the franchise though, I'm curious about they 'll do in the second one .

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

Mista-M In reply to jihef03 [2013-03-06 07:31:07 +0000 UTC]

The thing is though every one knows Spideys origin but there is more to it than what Raimi or Webb did they could have gone into his attempts to be a TV personality rather than just nod to the wrestling aspect. That could have opened up a proper discussion between Ben and Peter about responsibility.

The Lizard/Connors really should have shown more interest in Spider-man; I mean would you rather be a giant mutant monster or a human with enhanced abilities. Instead he was like whatever - scales for everyone.

The franchise does have potential (as do most) but some serious focus is needed and less cheesy crane swing and kid rescue moments.

And if they cant do the Spider-sense properly leave it out, how do you swing straight into the path of helicopter when you have ears and Spider-sense?

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

jihef03 In reply to Mista-M [2013-05-02 11:07:12 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I see what you mean about the tv personality aspect, but honestly, I'd have just skipped the origins part . I mean, even if they wanted to do things a little different, it was soooo long and boring ... I'd rather go for a young Peter Parker who's already Spider-Man for a few weeks, kinda like the way they did in Spectacular Spider-Man .

The Lizard/Connors was very poorly design, I whish they'd go for a Lizard like in the MTV show . This one was freaky ! But for his interest of the Lizard towards Spider-Man, i think it was okay. I mean, that's the point of the Lizard : he thinks he's superior in every way compared to mankind . For him , Spidey is just a lame primate who can punch a little harder than the norm .

Well, only the future will tell . I've got conflicting feelings from what I've learned about it, but I try to keep the apport of info to the minimum . I want to be surprised when I watch the things, and not knowing every goddman spoilers before its release !!

Ahh, yeah, that part....Well, as they said :" lazy, lazy writing..."

I like it.... reading your other comment, rather than the outline to help him stand out, you can also add a very transparent layer of gray/white (opacity very very low) over the background characters to make them look slightly washed out and give it depth (make them look farther back). Mess with the layer properperties... Or you can make the background characters a little less vibrant / saturated... Just some suggestions.

I really love your work.
I miss the old Spiderman movies too.
The ol' movies had sentimental value as much as it had moral values in it.
Yeah, the third Installation of the film was kind of a bummer in terms of movies but it was still great and was still special.
The entire series had a sort of creative integrity that it managed to keep up.
First of all, I would like to say that you have perfectly titled this work. Spider-Man No More! was a story from The Amazing Spider-Man #50.
The same story was adapted for making the movie "SpiderMan 2"

I see your work has tried to capture as much of the essence of the Spiderman trilogy as possible.
Peter standing there all beaten up...that's one thing that all the spidey movies have and must have.

I see you've gone very detailed about Peter
The cut on Peter's right hand is because of one of the Green Goblin's throwing star (razor-edged boomerang-like throwing weapon...idk what it's called). I remember it from the first movie. Normon Osborne almost found Peter hiding on the ceiling of his room when blood dripped from his hand.
It's cool how you made it seem freshly cut.
I think the reason why you've drawn Peter unmasked is probably cuz of that Train incident where all the passengers swear to protect his identity.
I don't remember where he got the black eye but I think it might also be a relevant edit of nostalgia.

It's perfect how you've put the big green goblin mask in the centre of all the villains. The Green Goblin is undoubtedly the most famous of all SpiderMan Villains. He's the "classic spidey villain". Not only that, but his character seems to echo throughout the trilogy (basically through Harry)
I also see a faint inscription on the left cheek of the Green Goblin Mask. I believe that's your signature. xD

Harry coming behind from the Goblin mask is truly a sweet aspect of this picture as it symbolizes how he emerged from his father...ok, I better rephrase that cuz that sounded weird.
Harry loved his dad and wanted to be exactly like his dad.
The aspect of him dawning from behind the goblin mask seems to represent how the Goblin Jr. was born. (i couldn't say this properly but I think you understand what I mean)

I like how you put all the characters in their epic posses.
It suited them quite nicely.
I love how you not only showed the awesomeness of simplicity by only showing only one of Doc Ock's tentacles but also how you really highlighted your signature with that claw.
Adding the pendent(necklace) to Sandman's hand was a nice touch too.

The faces of the characters slightly resemble the original cast
but only if you know it's the original cast.
It's fascinating how these figures resemle the cast because each feature of the characters individually taken (other than the shape of the face) doesn't look anything like the actor. The features as a whole combine to form a similar faces.

One major part of this montage is that out of the 3 center characters, Peter is the only one with a lower body.
This distinguishes peter from the villains but it doesn't feel right. It sorta weird. I can't stop staring at his crotch (that area) wondering..is that right?
The lower part of the picture does have a certain weirdness to it when over-speculated.

I would say Peter's green outline was a bit too much, but I think it was totally you're call. The outline could have been better black but the green does add a certain effect to this picture.
The green outline sorta makes it feel like Peter emerges out of the picture. It's like he's saying, "I'm better than these guys behind me because I embraced my power and made took the responsibilities that came with it"

But what I really feel what this picture is saying is "What is Sony Picture's thinking rebooting us?"
You have to admit, their facial expression truly compliment that thought.

This is an awesome picture...
I love this...
You are an awesome artist...
I hail you

Wow you got really deep there. Thanks for taking the time to look at this.

Regarding the green outline I was really trying to separate Spider-man from the five villains, I wanted to bring him forward and push them back. My rendering didn't quite achieve it so I went with the outline.

The mask-less Peter was a staple of Raimi's movies so I had to do it, I tried the torn mask but it looked very weird. As for the crotch area I think its the spotting blacks which I still need to master.

Again thanks for your views on this
