Description Yup, nope, no idea whatsoever.ย

Requests are still in the works; I have two that I could upload now, but wanna work on a little more first. And heaps of lineart waiting to be abandoned coloured. xD My motivation is just kinda low right now: not sure why.

I was thinking about new perspectives on the guy before I started this picture, and am growing really attached to the idea that Gaster has been banished to the programming of the game. Gives an interesting meaning to "speaks in hands".

I recorded my progress for this, and probably will continue doing as such for a little while. Not gotta upload anything yet, but we'll see.
2 hours .~.

I for some reason imagined him singing Ultron's version of Pinocchio's strings song when I saw that title XD

Oooh you recorded it? Are you gonna make a speedpaint? I'd kill to see how you shade in that crazy style that you do
I love that there's so much going on in the foreground as well as the background, it gives so much dimension to the piece and there's so much to look at ;0; also the fact that you've added tiny pops of colour into the otherwise monochrome scheme is beautiful!

I did record it, but I move the camera around so much while I'm drawing and shading, the video makes me a little dizzy. xD This piece took me such a short amount of time too, so I'm not sure how much peeps would be able to learn from it? Maybe I should speed it up a little less. .~.
Eehee, I'm so glad you think that worked out, though. I'm really not sure how to deal with monochrome pieces at all, but really wanted to add bursts of colour in there somewhere, somehow; you know? It is pretty chaotic, though. Whoops. xD

Aw I see xD I'd still be pretty excited to watch it honestly! To me it doesn't really matter about length most of the time, I just love seeing how the artist brings a piece together from start to finish ;v;
It's a good kind of chaotic if you ask me, it's so busy that it just leads your eye all around the piece but not too much that it detracts from the main character! You've pulled it off perfectly I think c:

xD xD Aah, you know some people can actually read wingdings without needing a text-processor.
I can't even remember what was in entry number seventeen, though. D:

Darker yet darker...

Thankyou! ^^
You have very good shading, in your traditional works. ^^

Thanks so much! But I'm still trying to improve my shading... Any tips?

Sure thing!
When I use coloured pencil, I find that lots of gentle layering is far more effective than simply pushing harder into the paper. Also, that a circular motion can help more than simply shading in a line: using a circle allows for more even distribution of the pigment across the paper and helps those liney marks from showing up on your work.
Also, using the same method mentioned above, using light, circular motions, I like to mix the colours of my different pencils on the page; often using three, four, five or more on the same area, at different intensities to achieve the effect I want. It's because I mix colour like this that I always try to be gentle on the paper. If you flatten the texture of the paper out by pressing too hard, the colours from the other pencils won't stick very well.
It is slower, however, so you may rather not. I just like layering colours a lot, so I kinda have to. xD

Of course, this is only the way I like to colour with traditional pencils. Many people have different techniques. Above all, don't be afraid to experiment!
