well ive kinde held a scythe when i was younger, and even though i was not exactly what i would call a "strong" kid i still remember scythes as beeing very heavy in the big bladed end. Basicly the intention was that when you actually swinged the thing it had so much momentum or something you could cut down a lot of grass/wheat whatev. at once.
To be short, a scythe is damn heavy in one end, not so much the other.
That's why (i think) most pictures of people holding scythes with 1 hand the scythe is resting one end on the ground. While Death here is holding it elevated with 1 hand. And well.. it just looks a tad weird in my eyes. But to be honest, few people ever held a scythe, and actually resting the damn thing on the ground or something to balance it would well... ruin the picture. It just looks like he is holding something which is about to fall, perfectly still, kinda annoyed me.
To cut it short, it looks a tad heavy to be holding that way, but i have seen several people hold it perfectly still etc. so its mostly just me. But as i said, it's death, he is paranormal etc, if he wants to hold it that way, he can xD

Thank you very much. In many ways I was very lucky. I had a sense of "being there" in the picture - I was in total controll and I had a very clear vsion of what I wanted. I've already got ideas for a new one too!
Thank you muchly for you comment!

muss say that I'm very impressed by the painting... but not too much by the drawing. It
seems a little "conservative", (I dont speak english very well)... Something is missing but
I still think its brilliant. Please dont hurt me! anyway... I was thinking... could I send u a
for u to paint it? just if possible, I would be very thankfull. keep it up man!

Death, or the image of The Grim Reaper, is conservative. It's a personifiaction of Death, which is very hard not to draw in a stereotypic fashion. I don't quite understand what you are referring to and what you would have liked changed.. But no worries! I won't hurt you!
I'm not sure I can promis that I can paint your painting for you, but I would very much like to see it! Why don't you upload it to your gallery, or scraps and send me a note when you've done so! I'd like to see your version, how you like Death to be. If I do paint it however, I will of course ask your permission first, mention it in my description, and give you as a source for inspiration.
I'm glad you like the art! It means a lot to me. Again, please upload your drawing - I'd like to see it! I'm not going to change anything on this one, but I might do it over, once I've drawn a few more of Death. Perhaps you will inspire me then?

An old story from a Bookworm magazine issue that came out long time ago and isn't being published long time now.
Ok, the story:
The main character is a young woman, who goes dancing on the day her mother is about to die. When she comes back, she pumps on an cloaced man with a candle in his hand. She doesn't think much about it and goes for her mother, who she sadly finds has died when she was away. She relizes almost too late, who the man with the candle was, but still runs after him, hoping to catch the man. She follows him to a dark garden that surrounds a black lake. She gets to him just a moment before he enters the lake, just a moment before he enters the waters to kill the candle. She grabbs the candle and runs back, ruing the last of her beautiful dress and shoes. She manages to get back, but bearly before the candle dies.
This figure, who took the candle from the house has always hunted me in my mind. I never thought I'd see it in real.
