..this might be a stupid question..but..is that real blood?...looks real...i have seen blood alot in my life..and if its fake you did a awesome job at imitating it!
...I REALLY like this photo..and I think self-timing cameras are not always best^_^
And the cupboards are a great idea because it gives you a more real feeling..like this could really happen in your home<3
Love it!

This is one of the earlier pictures before I started using my own blood instead of trying to concoct realistic fake blood. So, nope. Fake.

We had a terrible 70s kitchen back in my old apartment, it really did lend itself nicely to some creepy photos.

Hey, nice cupboards! j/k! I shoud probably be put off by the knife and blood and gore but I'm totally mesmerized by the shape of your gorgeous front teeth. And like you, I love the way the black hair strands fall on your milky shoulder/arm.

I have a thing for long straight black hair (or is it long black straight hair?), always have, always will. Your lips and teeth and tongue all look so... incredibly inviting! Makes me want to kiss my computer screen. It's crazy, isn't it?

Thank you, MisterManzin, for bringing so much beauty to the world.
God knows we need it!

That was my old apartment in Canton. It had a really 70s feel (at least in the kitchen) that I thought worked very well for the shot.

The cupboards are beside the point... they only served as a humorous intro line. Have you not read all of my note? I'm sure you did! But thanks anyway for giving me an explanation about the cupboards (I'd already found this bit in a previous reply).

Built in 1969 (Manson's birthyear!), our house had a big 60's feel to it. For example, the family room in the basement had red shag carpeting, multi-colored metal flakes glued onto a stucco ceiling, wood paneling and even a bar. It was really ugly and depressing. My b/f had to tear everything down and redo the room completely. Then we got rid of a lilac sink, toilet and bathtub in the main bath. The work took months and years. The house has received a near total make-over and it's still not over yet. It's a never ending process.

I know you'd love to have a decent backdrop one day but catching a glimpse of where you live (furniture, decor, cat, etc.) gives me a little bit more insight on you and I like that.

I had a dream last night that I was living with my parents and they decided to gift me with my own room. It was an upgrade from what I'd had previously, huge main room and a big closet, its own bathroom, own entrance and a back patio all to myself. But it had belonged to my aunts when they were growing up and it was still done in a very 60s-70s style. I'm talking brown shag, Elvis posters, wood everywhere, beads, the whole nine yards. I wasn't sure what to do with it but I decided that I'd shoot the fuck out of it as it was and then renovate it into a more futuristic white/black/chrome thing. Of course my cat woke me up before I could get much done with it.

I don't think my current backdrops give anyone much insight into me, more like a quick snapshot of my mother's Martha Stewartness. Meh. I gotta get out of this place.

I would quite like to see shot with a neutral background; the cupboards take away from the model. Did you take this yourself [with no self-timer]? The way your left arm is posed suggests that; use of a self-timer would also do much justice to this shot. It definately has potential.

The reason the cupboards are there is that I was shooting this set in my kitchen, which is very 70s themed and that was the overall look I was after for the set, a grainy period murder scene. The rest of the photos (which are probably too graphic for DA) look okay with the greenyellow linoleum and pressed wood cupboards. I was leaning in the doorway with my arm against the frame and no self timer, partly because when I'm close enough to reach it I just hit the button because it's faster. Also because I liked the way my hair was on my arm and how it intensified and complimented both the angle/line of the knife and the curve/roundness of my face. Plus if my arm wasn't there, I would've had to Photoshop out the dish drainer, all the dirty dishes, my computer tower, a clock, a pile of CDs, and a candle or two. You can pick either the art fag excuse or the practical one, they are equally applicable. Thanks for the comment!

You definitely captured the 70's theme. Good work! I'd like to see the rest of the set.

I don't think I'll win, there are a lot of submissions much better than mine. But I had a lot of fun making the picture in the first place, and I think that was the point of it. Maybe someday I'll be able to capitalize on the fact that I don't have an original bone in my body, ha.
