Description Oh boy, for those who were interested about what my Halloween costume looked like, my apologies for not posting this sooner, I only had a few shots and I had to pick the best of those limited shots as I could.

Now, this picture was taken with my mom's digital camara because mine didn't want to cooperate that night...we do have a slight glare on my glasses but otherwise than that, no big deal. I had decided to dress as a gothic fairy for Halloween and yes, I know, the costume isn't anything special, due to me having a hard time finding a costume, I had to throw together a few things here or there.

The costume consists of a tank top with a lacey black top over that. I had decided to use some blue ribbon to tie around near my elbows in order to add more to the flowey sleeves that the top had. The skirt, however, had more work to it. I had bought some dark blue ribbon and black lacing that was sewn along the slits of the skirt. Around the waistline, some temporary loops were sewn and I used some metal links (like the kind you see on purse straps) to be able to attach the suspenders which were from one of my Tripp pants. I wore black panty hose underneath the skirt along with my boots. I wore a pair of black lace gloves, blue nail polish, and blue eye make up in order to match the blue and black color scheme of the wings. The wings I had bought from the Spirit store for about ten dollars. I simply wore my hair with a black headband that I wear mostly to school and out.

I have to say that a major thank you goes out to my mom, due to me not being the sewing type, she was the one who helped me do whatever sewing needed to be done so for that, I thank her very much.

Ideas that had to be dropped: Originally, I had bought a second skirt to go over this one for a layered look which I was going to attach ribbon and lace it through the rivets(those metal circles that shoelaces go through) in order to add to the look of the lace and suspenders...unfortunately, the pliers used to attach the rivets accidently tore a hole through the second skirt and out of fear of it also doing that to the main one, the laced ribbon idea had to be dropped for that reason.

Overall, I liked how it turned out and had a pretty nice evening at work although you can probably tell from this pic that I am a little exhausted because working in boots is not easy! The only downside was that four people thought I was dressed as a witch despite me having wings on.

Awesome! And some people are just silly. What kind of witch has wings?

Thanks

I have no idea Normally witches have brooms so they wouldn't have a use for wings really.

Awesome job!
As mentioned in your journal, I don't understand how people could have thought you were a witch. I mean, even I can tell that you're a gothic fairy! Bravo on the costume!

Thank you!

That is exactly what some customers told me when I had told them about the whole witch comment, even one told me "Uh, didn't they see the wings?" I'm going to guess that some of the older customers either thought that since the costume was mostly black or because they don't get out too often.
