Sometimes i find it's
Hard not to smile
At misfortune and
All the while
There's laughter on
My tongue and lips
Aimed at the girl
With slender hips
Who knows in time
Her belly will swell
And she'll be alone
We can all tell

I turned my face away
And cracked a filthy grin
When that bruised boy said
"My dad's at it again"
But he fakes a smile
As he tries to hide
All the bruises and
The limp's worse this time
I've a sick satisfaction
As he stumbles in the hall
And get just too excited
When he crumples against the wall

In these times I feel I'm twisted
Somewhere deep inside
At this depressive feeling
My soul begins to glide
My angry laughter falls
On all of those disheartened
And at their pain-filled cries
My bitter blades are sharpened
Thus i'm cracked at heart
And it's a pretty thing you see
For to be a twisted adder
Is simply to be me
