To heck with princes and princesses- I want to see villains and lackeys!

This was, once upon a time, supposed to be a "cover" for Highly Unexpected, but somewhere along the way it got camped up beyond belief and I'm not sure if it will be a cover or not.

The sketch for this was lying around for so long, forgotten almost entirely until I started clearing out old art junk from my folders in order to make more room for more games ( a worthy cause )!

I never could find the actual, paper-bound copy of the sketch, so I decided to be brave and finish it entirely with Paint Shop. Yes, I use PSP 9 because I am an old lady and that's what I have, and I don't have money for things like art programs or monitors that weren't in their prime even in the 90's.

Wiggins was originally not in a dress so much as just a flowy sort of man-garment, but I decided that it was just impossible to pass up over-dramatizing the whole thing further. Now it is a romance novel cover. You're welcome! [B

Ratcliffe's fabulous Fabio hair... Ahh, good times. Good times.

( While the fantastic both began ( as far as I am to understand it ) AND cornered Wiggins "crossdressing", though in her delightful story he is not so much crossdressing as, well, I shan't spoil it! Go read her stuff! ...Anyway, while she created the spark, so to speak, I had not yet seen her beautiful cosplay rendition of Princess Alexandra's dress when I began to draw this so long ago!
The Wiggins-in-a-dress thing is also somewhat relevant to my own story in a smaller way, though I don't wish to reveal a whole lot yet. )

This is what I wish Disney romance would be, only camped up and for some reason everyone's dressed weirdly. Hmm.
No, wait, that IS about what I would do, come to think of it. Princesses are just so old hat!

( On a somewhat rambling, sidetracking note:
Why can't being gay at least be acknowledged by media marketed for all ages, without it being just a joke? It CAN be handled tastefully and delicately, of that I am sure.
Maybe some day the world will move forward a little.
Kids can handle the concept that it doesn't always have to be a lady and a gent getting married. I'd know, because my daughter has already grasped this concept! In fact, our new generations will be much more ready to accept this because it is so much more an accepted part of the world they're being born into, as opposed to how it may have been for those before us.
Even more so if we can all pull our heads out of our fannies and realise that love doesn't have to be gender-coded. If a person with OCD tendencies can avoid labels and boxes, well, then, so can everyone else. )
