In January 2012, I initiated a raffle contest on my Kataklizmic Design Facebook page: If the page reached 208+ Likes by April 1, anyone who "Like"d it would have a chance to be immortalized via digital painting portrait created by myself. When that target was hit, I used the "True Random Number Generator" on Random.org to select the individual. The raffle winner just so happened to be a gorgeous and very talented artist named Alex Weaver. I was very happy to create artwork based on a beautiful individual whose style is largely influenced by some of my favorite artists, Angelspit and Emilie Autumn. I was also challenged by content of the photo selected, which contained intensive detail in the jewelry and clothing.

I started the piece around April 30, 2012. Between the tedious detail, my day job as a website designer, moonlighting as a photographer, beginner Japanese language classes, pole dance classes, and my determination not to settle, it took me 7 months to complete the piece - on September 21, 2012 (with the Facebook page at 482 Likes). The piece was created, using Photoshop and a small Wacom Bamboo tablet, at very high resolution so that it may be printed as a large poster. A photo was used for reference, however none of the original photo is in the painting - it's all handmade.

It was entered on canvas in two Phoenix, AZ art shows - Penguin Odyssey (12-8-12) and The After (12-21-12)
