The T-shaped red & white main barn at Morganson Farm houses up to 18 horses in 12' box stalls, plus an oversized stall. Finished main office space, bathroom, feed, tack and wash stall are found in the south wing. White enameled metal stall frames and warm golden wood give the interior a light, warm look while the rubber "brick" flooring gives a safe, lasting finish for traffic in the aisles. In the back of the west wing are open storage bays that help keep necessary equipment out of the aisles.

~ Guest Stables [floor plan ]
A new small barn nestled between the machine/hay shed, the round pen and the indoor arena, the "Guest" barn brings 7 additional stalls, including one oversized box stall. A feed area and individual tack lockers allow for easy care and storage in all weather. A small attached paddock affords safe turnout.

~ Stallion, Breeding & Medical Center  [floor plan ]
A brand new modern multiplex that houses our stallion barn, connected breeding center and medical facilities. The western "stallion wing" has 8 large 16' box stalls, feed/tack room and a wash stall. The breeding center office sits near the indoor "breeding shed" that connect the east and western wings of the complex. In the east wing is the veterinary offices & laboratory, an isolated quarantine area, as well as the broodmare barn with room for 5 guest mares, each with a private equipment locker.

~ Turnouts & Pastures [paddock fencing ]  [pasture fencing ] [stallion fencing ]
• 4 Dirt Paddocks :: Located directly around the main barn. Paddocks vary slightly in size or shape, but provide temporary turnout for up to 5 horses each. Triple rail wood fencing and red stock gates enclose.
• 4 Private Grass Paddocks :: Located across the drive from the main barns, each 1/2 acre private turnout provides grazing for 1-2 horses, with individual small shelters. Enclosed with dark wood triple rail board fencing.
• 4 Main Pastures :: "Pasture A" (6 acres) & "Pasture B" (5 acres) west of the main stables can hold 4-5 horses each. The larger pastures to the north, "Pasture C" (10 acres) & "Pasture D" (15 acres) can sustain 8-10 horses each. Fencing is wood posts with electric tape marking the top and electric rope in 3 rows along the bottom. Openings have red metal stock gates. Each pasture has a large open shelter for inclement weather.
• 6 Stallion Turnouts :: North of the stallion wing, the 3 larger four acre grass turnouts can house 2 stallions each comfortably, while the 3 smaller two acre turnouts provide plenty of space for stallions that need their own turnout. Taller 4 rail board fences provide secure enclosure for studs.
• 4 Broodmare Turnouts :: A large five acre paddock can support up to 4 amiable mares, while 3 private 1 acre turnouts provide exercise space for mares who need their own space. Three rail board fencing.
• Medical/Quarantine Paddocks :: located just of the back isolation wing of the medical/broodmare complex.

~ Indoor Arena [picture ] [picture ]
A modern but airy concrete, iron and glass building. Formerly where our outdoor dressage arena sat, this indoor building sits 90'x150' and has plenty of room for a full dressage arena, flat work or halter or in-hand work. (Although a few jumps can be used, the arena isn't big enough for a full jump course.) One long side of the arena has a bank of mirrors to help with learning.

~ Large Outdoor Jumping Arena [picture ]
The largest arena at Morganson Farm, at 300'x150' this outdoor arena can hold a full jump course. The large size also gives plenty of room for group lessons. Space to the west and east allow room for a judges box and spectator bleachers to be added for shows. The fencing is a three-rail white painted board fence.

~ Covered Stallion Arena [picture ]
Located near the stallion barn, this 80'x120' covered open arena is perfect for training and riding horses residing in the stallion complex. The open sides and skylights allow for plenty of natural light during the day, while light fixtures supply visibility in low light conditions.

~ Round Pens [picture ]
Two 60' round pens constructed of metal panels help provide controlled training environments for starting young or challenging horses. One pen is located north of the main barn, the other near the stallion barn and covered arena.

~ Cross Country Course [on course ] [sample obstacles: 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 ]
Starting main pasture C and extending north, the home course at Morganson Farm includes a variety of obstacles and challenges for different levels of skill.

~ Additional Structures & Areas
• Main parking is right in front of the stables, but there is additional room for trailer parking just north of the machine/hay shed, next to the dressage arena.
• The machine shed is open front while the attached hay storage shed is enclosed.

Property layout and logo designed and drawn by me. The farm expanded several years ago but I never updated the map to reflect the new part of the farm to the east. I've also drawn more of the pastureland to the north now as well. This map shows about 65 of the farm's 80 acres. Someday maybe I'll refine and add more details (like more of the cross country course) but this will stand for now.
(I spent a fair amount of time actually making this mostly to scale - accept I didn't really measure the house/kennels though, and just realized it is ginormous looking!)
Tools: Photoshop CS4, wacom tablet/pen

Thank you! Just Photoshop. It turned out huge! Once I realized I could overlay a grid on my canvas, it made measuring and getting the correct scale possible. Having everything on separate layers allowed me to move elements around as I finalized the layout.
