Description This is Ashley from the movie, The Secret of Kells. She turned out a little older than she appears in the movie, but that's the way I drew her.

I liked The Secret of Kells. I find it rather unique as far as art style goes. Now I know there have been others done in this style, but I thought the movie was overall pretty. And it was fun re-visiting something I studied in Art History.

Correction: It has come to my attention that her name is actually spelled "Aisling", but sounds a lot like Ashley when they say it. oops! I've changed the title. Thanks Guthbrand for pointing that out. I am far from an expert on Irish culture. ^_^

BTW, her name is Aisling (pronounced Ash-ling), Irish for 'Dream'.

ah, well that makes sense. It's hard to pick that up from the movie, sure sounded like Ashley to me. But I believe you.

Oooh that does look interesting. I wonder if it'll get a release here or I'd have to import it to see it. I remember seeing Triplets Of Belville at the cinema for my Animation diploma. It was so.... French XD Tripped out. It'll be interesting to see another project of theirs.

Nice drawing too I can see why you'd want to draw Ashley. She looks like such a captivating character.

have you seen Song of the Sea? It's in the style of the Secret of Kells, by the same directors and artists.

No I haven't seen that one either But I should start looking into it methinks. Australia doesn't get a lot of foreign indy film and animation released in mainstream stores. So it's hard for us to stumble across it. Which is what friends on DA and a multi-region DVD player are for XD
