His mates all tease her,They all ride past on various ranges of transport
As they pass the call out all sorts of tormenting jeers
Mainly including jaunts about her long legs
"Daddy long legs" over and over
"Lanky bitch" like she'd done somthing to hurt her
With every word they call out she slumps over a little bit more
But...
He just watches
And when he gradually rides past
He smiles...
Instantaneously she perks up and smiles
The gratefulness filling her eyes with a brightness
Such that it turned her eyes bright
Instead of the dull colour that had once been there
The next day,
As he was quietlty observing the world through shuttered blinds
He saw her
Down by the gum tree in the corner of the beach
Oblivious to the rain and wind she sat there hypnotised
She was also oblivious to the fact that he had come to stand behind her
With such ferocity that caught him unawares
She began to sing..
The wind lashed through her hair
While her voice rose and fell with every note
He stood transfixed at the wonderous sight
The words whipped at every fibre he possesed
Until he was overcome by guilt
Eventually her words faded
Replaced by hysterics of sobbing and tears
The guilt was overbearing...
The wails tore holes through him
Until...
He ran to her and embraced her...
He now realised and his head was reeling
As he lifted her chin and kissed her
She looked up in surprise and...
Kissed him back with more passion than she had ever thought she could muster
And when the were done
He walked her home hand in hers...
