Description I've seen bits of My Little Pony before on the internet, but it didn't really interest me at the time, until a friend introduced it to me. Watching one episode of the show, It dawned on me that there was something very appealing to it. The positive attitude of the characters is something that stands in contrast to most other things seen on television. That contrast and the values the show conveys is quite interesting. Pinkie Pie became easily my favorite pony because of her spreading joy and laughter. I find the value she stands for is very important: optimism.

Folded from a 25 x 25 cm square of tissue paper.
No box-pleading.

Thank you! I used methyl cellulose for the hardening and shaping process. The hair was certainly the hardest part.

I stumbled across them all by my self, but that lead to meeting so many new friends online.

I understand that very well. It was similar with the Origami community for me.

I've actually had very little contact with the online origami communities, but I've been folding for at least the past 13 years.

The origami community is very active on flickr and on the Origami Forum. I find it helps greatly to get response from fellow origami folders. Also I met some of the people there at conventions, which is always a blast.

I've never been to an origami conention, what's it like?

mitanei In reply to Daniel-Choppy [2013-04-01 20:40:15 +0000 UTC]

I experienced it as a pretty nice gathering of people who are as crazy as yourself. I made a couple of new friends there and you can exchange tips or ideas and learn new models and have quite a bit of fun. Oh and of course we fold the whole time!
All in all it's a pretty positive, creative and social thing which is what I imagine a Brony-Con might also be.
