I found I have not done anything for my little sis for quite some time. That is a SERIOUS mistake.So, this is for KAT. *Wishmaker-kc
I love you, dear. I seriously do.
Why such name? Well, there is a very neat explanation. Waterlilies are also called lotus. And in my native, Estonian, LOOTUS = hope. Hence - lotus still blooms - hope still blooms. It also fits mythologically, since one of the hundreds of meanings of lotus is hope, rejuvenation, rebirth.
Messed around a lot with this picture. And no, she is not quite wearing a dress - rather a stone angel come to life, walking towards the water lilies, walking towards hope. Winter will follow autumn, but then it will be spring, and so the circle goes.

Hehe, the lotus flower is also a huge symbol in a lot of japanese literature/manga I've seen, pretty important in that culture (from what I've seen anyway). I love using that also. For me it represents hope & life. I prefer calling it lotus flower to water lily, lol. It just sounds so much better!

I've studied lotus folklore as well (as my uni major is folklore). It's been ALL over the world. Even in ancient Egypt. Japan, China, Europe etc. Even my own homeland, Estonia.
Here the name is VESIROOS = water rose.

I tried in the morning, and it would not work, so I put it aside for hours and began again late at night. Better like this, than to get upset over it.
