Description Thick drops of rain began to pound the windshield as Tommy drove along the road to the hospital. In the passenger seat Beth shivered and groaned, trying to stay comfortable. Relaxed was far from how she felt but she had no energy. Whatever this thing was seemed to be sucking all the life from her as well as making her sicker than she had ever felt.  Sleep was the only option.

Beth's stomach bubbled and gurgled as the car sped up. Tommy briefly took his eyes off the slick road and studied the bulging mass. It seemed to be almost... Bigger since they had gotten in the car. Was that even possible? Dumb question since this had not existed the night before. Anything was possible today, he thought. A bump appeared beneath Beth's taut skin and Tommy averted his eyes. Beth groaned and rubbed the spot where the bump had been, eyes still shut.

"What's happening to me, Tommy?"
She asked in a hoarse, weak voice.

"I don't know, Beth. Do you remember anything about last night?"

She shook her head, doubting the frightening flashes she kept seeing. She thought it had been a dream. How could such a monster have existed? She opened her mouth to answer but was startled as a loud, long belch escaped her. Her cheeks blushed red and she covered her mouth.

"Excuse me." She said, deadpan.

Tommy was just as shocked as Beth at the sound that had come from her. Although they had been friends for years she remained very reserved. Apart from that it also sounded more like the sound a frat boy would make after a case of beer.

A smaller burp came from Beth, whose cheeks remained red, eyes focused on the floor in embarrassment.

"What's going on with me?" She lamented to herself. Tommy placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder.

"You're going to be alright. We'll get this figured out."

Beth rubbed her bulging belly, cautiously. "Tommy, I can feel something moving in here. It's like I'm pregnant." A tear formed in her eye and fell to her cheek.

"Lay back, try to relax until we're at the hospital."

Beth did so. No sleep came but her eyes remained shut. She tried to get comfortable but the feeling in her guts was cramped and heavy, overfilled as if she had gorged on food in spite of her numerous bouts of vomiting. The noises in her stomach continued periodically, bubbling angrily as if something was plotting its escape.

As the duo neared the hospital Beth opened her eyes and tried to sit up. Her stomach, to her shock, seemed larger but it was hard to tell in a seated position. Nonetheless, the fabric of her shirt seemed a bit more strained and her porcelain skin a bit more stretched. She gathered what strength she could and tried to heave herself up. And then came another noise.
It was loud, like a weed whacked starting up, and impossibly long. For a brief moment Beth didn't even realize that it was coming from her. Her eyes bulged out and a hard knot of embarrassment joined the wriggling beast within her.
She held a hand to the side of her cheek, now the darkest shade of red imaginable.
"Oh my God. I'm so sorry! I... I didn't even..."
"Don't mention it, Beth," Tommy said as he nonchalantly rolled down the window in spite of the pouring rain. "It happens."
"Not to me... At least not like this."

They passed a blue road sign with a white H and an arrow pointing the way.
Thank God, Beth thought to herself. She rubbed her stomach as she felt what was surely another gas bubble make its way through her aching guts.
Get me there soon.
