"What are you doing here?" Valkyrie said, finally removing his hands from her wrists and sitting up.
"I heard about your situation. I'm very sorry" he said, hopping off the bed and straightening his tie.
His empty eye sockets still scared her as he turned his gaze toward her.
"What situation?" she said, forgetting yesterdays events.
"What are you- oh" she said. Her memories flooded back to her and she began to sob uncontrollably again. She had to put her hand over her mouth to ensure that Skulduggery didn't hear her. After she had calmed down, Sanguine handed her a photo.
"Recognise him?" he said sharply, locking the door incase Skulduggery tried to enter. It was just aswell, because as soon as Valkyrie saw the picture she began to sob again. If he had had them, Sanguine would have rolled his eyes. He waited a while, before he sat down next to her and spoke.
"THAT is Shengon Nhai. From all the tears, I can only assume you do know who he is, and what he's been doing." Valkyrie nodded her head as more tears hit the floor. Sanguine reached into his pocket and produced tissues.
Thanking him, Valkyrie listened eagerly as he spoke.
"I started traking down Nhai down about two weeks ago. From what I've discovered, he should be in Dublin in two days."
Valkyrie was confused with all this information.
Wasn't Sanguine evil? Why would he want to help her? What did he have to gain from it?
"Im not sure I get it." Valkyrie said. "One you get him, what are you going to do? You cant exactly hand him over to the police. I don't know if you remember, but you arent exactly on the right side of the law."
She folded her arms and waited for Sanguine's long and elaborate plan to reveal itself. Instead, he smiled.
"My dear Valkyrie," he said, and Valkyrie shuddered.
"I have no intention of turning him in. I intend to kill him."
