Have you read Chichi Kogusa, "Father and Child Grass"? I can gladly say it's the sweetest Manga I have come across!
It is the story of the medicine seller Tora who never raised his son due to his journey. But when his wife passes away he faces a new chapter of life when little Shirou joins his father on his travels~ The characters are utterly unique, lively and with great depth, the art is beautiful, the story incredibly touching!
You don't need to be into this genre to fall in love with it!
So go out there and read that beauty - I promise you will not regret it!

Now this is Ieji, Tora's messenger falcon~ She is this little tsun-tsun bird, who often sighs displeased at Tora's emotional consipations or bites his ear x'D She's amazing, and yes, Ieji is a girl!
