Here's some sustenance for ya'll as I work up the nerve to post more current work.I drew this for a few minutes last summer -- at the time I was having trouble finishing everything I started. This is one of those items, and I now I think I understand the trouble I had. I was really just trying too hard -- struggling to make beautiful things and the end results were (for the most part) reflective of that feeling.
I still liked this one enough to share, though. Still relevant for some.
Ballpoint pen on 12"x12" Canson archival paper (I only used a quarter of the page).

great composition, keeps you engrossed. the girl's reaction to the beast next to her is really intriguing. this is a surrealistic piece, you have tapped into the girl's dream and drawn her in the process of dreaming. this is one of my favorite's of your work.

Thanks so much! I don't know how I feel about this piece -- I don't usually understand it on most days, but every once in awhile, when I'm in a sour mood, it makes sense all over again and I am happy that it exists.:')

you're welcome. that cycle you described sounds like a good description of the drawing. the drawing goes from the dark images to the serene face and the arrows take you back to the dark images again. sounds to me like you tapped into your subconscious with that drawing; a true surrealist piece

ya, very very expressive of head-banging-into-wall frustration o.o still, a good piece, it'd be interesting to see it framed in a diagonal rectangle on a wall in a gallery somewhere...
