Percival spent most of, if not his entire, life working for others. Notable figures throughout the city, though perhaps not for the right reasons. The trauma he carries from both his family's death and his partner's has affected him deeply. He had always been a quiet, humble and polite soul never quite wishing to overstep boundaries and as such he took great care to cultivate an understanding persona. Despite his personality seeming friendly on paper, he was anything but. He would slink around in the corners of a room whenever a gathering took place, preferred to be seen and not heard [or talked to] and whenever anyone did manage to rope him into a conversation he would give next to nothing away about himself and acted so formal that most would get bored and walk away. Much to his relief.

Of course, there's always more to be seen from a dog such as this and Percival proved to be hiding a real gem. After he met Quinn and consequently fell in love with them, Quinn realized that he indeed had a soft spot. He was a worrier, always checking on them, making sure they were safe and well taken care of while he was away [which was often] and once Milo arrived it became even more evident that Percival would be a great father. He was aggressively paternalistic, fussing over his child and partner and working himself to the bone to make sure they were happy. He was rarely home for more than a couple hours due to his 'work', but Quinn didn't mind because the times when he was home, he would spend every second with them. Of course, it wasn't all sunshine and rainbows despite what it may have seemed. Percival was and is an innately cynical and aggressively practical dog, he rarely looked on the bright side [something his job never allowed] and would always come up with the most convoluted plans to achieve things. He never dreamed, only planned. Dream were useless. But with planning he could help his partners dream come true.

This is where his calculated nature came into play, finding ways around certain obstacles or coming up with more diverse plans and long-term goals that were realistically achievable for the family. Of course, if one could make sense of his ramblings and notes. He never was great at organizing his thoughts, his research, his notes or his anything else really and regularly worked in a chaotic mess surrounded by piles of papers and books. It's a good thing he doesn't do much of that anymore. He doesn't have time for it.
