Vision: What an absolutely fantastic idea! It's not only brilliant fun, but it also teaches what each note sounds like (providing you know the scale). Not to mention that the smilie faces make it perfect for children.
Originality: I don't believe I've come across something so fabulously simple yet incredibly awesome before.
Technique: There are a few things I feel should be pointed out initially, especially one, which is the main reason why you haven't achieved 5 stars on this. The sound.
Whilst I appreciate this probably isn't entirely your fault (I'm not sure if you created the sounds yourself or just downloaded them) but it would be so much better if the sounds weren't so tinny. I think though, that the major problem comes when you try and press two notes at the same time. One word: Ow. It'd be nicer if they actually blended together properly instead of making that horrible sound. Alternatively, if it's nigh impossible to make them blend nicely, have any previous note sounds cut off before the new note sounds. So for example, if I push C and then B, have C cut off and stop playing as soon as B begins to play. So at any one time, only one note is playing.
Perhaps you could've added the note letter beneath each note (C D E F G A B) to allow those who don't know the letter to begin to learn it. Maybe not even have the letter show until after the user as clicked the note?
As I've already mentioned, the faces on the notes are absolutely fantastic! And I love the effects once they've been clicked! Colours are also brilliant (everyone loves a rainbow!) but the Yellow B note is perhaps a little too bright. I can't even see the cutesy little face on it (and I can barely see the one on the Green A).
Impact: Overall I think this is just fantastic, and with the few tweaks I've mentioned ( the sound and perhaps the note letters ) this could be a great learning environment for children and adults, to help teach them scales and what not! Perhaps even expand it to include more scales?
