thanx !
design is the hardest part when it comes to robots and weapons

Indeed. Trying to figure out how all the parts are going to work together and look like it makes sense in a constructive way is very challenging. Creating a rig is also hard because all the bone ends have to be in the center of parts that rotate with circular motion (e.g elbow, finger). At least the weighting is minimal- red and blue! And that's good because usually customizing the weights is the most boring and frustrating part haha! (at least for me it is!)Β Β

but rigging mechanics is much easier then characters you only have group part as joins no need for weighting
that how I do it in C4D

Yeah I agree. I just find creating the rig more time-consuming because you have to make sure that the bone ends are perfectly aligned with rotating circular parts. For Blender this involved going into the mesh edit mode, moving the 3D cursor to the center of the pivot point of the joint, then going into the rig editor and moving the bone end to the 3D cursor. Then repeat for every bone end. Unless there;s a faster way. The hands and finders are the worst part for this!Β Β

well find weighting is the most annoying part in rigging . .
in C4D you can create joints faster through loops around parts in the mash, so it not a problem
any way I can't wait to see your Machine completedΒ

That does sound more easier. I think a while ago I saw a similar thing for the joint loops for Blender but I forgot where it was. Oh well maybe I'll find out what I saw later. The model is almost done. No I just need to add final details, make the materials, and rig it!Β

Then eat cake.

that sounds fun, it makes wanna create a robot model myself . . .
well that sounds like plan I'll begin designing one right away !
