I was going to give you critiqueΒ (on why you should have added a background because it looks a bit empty) but I immediately threw it out the window because I don't think you need critique. Shut up and take the stamp of approval.Β Β

BECAUSE THIS MASTERPIECE DOESN'T NEED A BACKGROUND! O0O It would have been nice though. ^^

Well, thanks for calling it "masterpiece", I am flattered. Yeah it would be nice, maybe I will try to add some next time

Maybe next time, I am still not confident with my background skill.

Well, as we say here in Sweden; "Γvning ger fΓ€rdighet." (It literally means;Β "practice gives dexterity" or something like that.) It simply means that unless you practice you won't get any better. But only you know in what tempo you want to evolve as an artist and I'm not forcing you to work harder. It's just a suggestion from me that you should experiment a little. ^^

This drawing is very nice! For the most part, your coloring is on point, and I appreciate the effort you've put in to your blending. With that said, there are a few areas where your shading is odd, especially around the mouth and tail. While those areas are lighter than the rest of the body in the reference picture you used, your coloring brings this lightness out a little too much. You might want to go over those areas with a slightly darker pencil. I also noticed some inconsistencies in your outline- on some places, like the head and tail, it's fairly obvious, while on places like the back and neck folds, you can't really see it at all. This is a bit odd and somewhat distracting to me. I reccomend deciding wether or not to keep the outline in before you start coloring, and to stick to that. I'm u sure if it's intentional or not, but your coloring is reminiscent of scales, and that really works with the piece! There is a small area of oddity where the stomach transitions colors. Instead of darkening the area, try blending the green and yellow to smoothly transition into your new color.Β
Overall, this is a really nice drawing, and impressive for someone who doesn't draw reptiles often. I hope I've managed to help you ^^

Oh, I accidentally push the submit button. Moving on, a real great feedback, it helps a lot of aspect. Oh and yes, the scale coloring was intentional. I used my own technique ( or improvising someone's ) to scale draw. Thanks a lot

Alright, I'm glad I helped! Color transitioning can be hard- maybe try on a blank sheet of paper a few times?

Yes, I didn't use any dark outline outline instead
colored pencil, so it looks more natural and realistic. For each body outline, I chose a color then darkening color depends on lightning. It's a new thing I am trying but maybe I should revert back to my black outline.I have a hard time on stomach color transition

Yes, I kinda mess up the colorings. I want to give a turqoise but since I am kinda limited by color choices, I have decided to use green tone instead. Hmm, what kind of detail should I put in?
