Note: I posted a bulletin once and asked f anyone had a request to my next portrait and someone asked me to do Hiroto's. So here it is. I chose this photo because of his hand. Like I might have mentioned before I need to practise on drawing hands. I like the result but I need to practise more on it.

Thanks for commenting on my page, here's a few things I thought might help for this picture and also in general:
1. Find a reference picture that has more mid tones and even shadings, this allows you to put in the details and can easily see the contour of things. In this ref, see how the hand is over exposed, and the face is totoally white, and jacket all black, no creases no fold whatsoever, as it is a PS edited photo. Hence on your version, the three are flat.
2. Spend LESS time on the eyes. I know it is what everyone likes to do , but in order to make the picture tie together, get the overalls done before you come back to do details.
3. Hair. Do it slowly, strand by strand. Use a finer pencil. Make sure the size of your paper is big enough for you to do details. Usually for a picture like that the minimum would be a A4.
Keep it up, it's always good to see pencil work

Yay the first help I've gotten here and it's good advices too!
It is really much easier to see other's faults than your own I think...
1. I didn't choose the picture though. It was a request thing.
And yeah you're right about the face and jacket. But is his hand reallΓΏ
over exposed?
2 and 3. Totally right! I think Aki and Shin are the only ones I've really had the patience to use time on the hair now that I've come to thiink of it. And well I really CAN'T use bigger formates than A4 (which is what I use)! O.O

Yeah I'v seen it many times, It's realy cool. The reason I havent favd it myself is becaus I avoid faving images that has already been favd as many times as 100 and so, simply becaus I want to support the great once that still havent been discoverd (eksept this one [link] it's just to perfect XD) But you have notised my fasination for antique frames?!

Actually most of the weird people I wanna see is not in Harajuku but in Shinjuku, the paralell street.
Harajuku is misunderstood cause they used to be there before (Like when Gwen Stefane wrote songs about them) but not anymore.
So yeah I wanna go to Shinjuku. @_@ And the Yojogi park!!!

I have only seen some clips on youtube with an american host, but I don't know how old they are , I didnt know that it was songs about harajuku O_o

Takashita dori, is one of the main streets in tokyo, it seemes so exiting, so much to look at!!! But maybe they have moved the populaity to an other place for that place too O_O.
Yoyogi park, never heard of that one, (im still not that orientaded in tokyo) *loves google* It looks great, I like parks too though and not just wierd people XD

In the Yoyogi park people are allowed to perform their arts. It's the only place they're allowed to actually.
My brother saw many bands there and filmed them. Among them was Samstring and Jack Rose who are quite big now.
I love Jack Rose. Hmmm gives me an idea! I'm gonna draw one of them next.
Gwen Stefani is quite a fan of the Japanese "harajuku girls". Harajuku is a popular shopping place acording to my brother who have been there. But the Jrock/cosplay people are in Shinjuku. Every Sunday they gather outside the Meji shrine where the streets Harajuku and SHinjuku meets. As far as I get it at least

After looking searching wikipedia it seems that all these places are very close to eatchother, harajuku bridge is between harajuku station and yoyogi park, so the wierd people are arownd that area. I dont know anything about the shoping streets in harajuku, i know that its close to takeshita but not how close, maybe its just a street in harajuku. But shinjuku seems to be a quite a big area in tokyo, looks like it even has it's own flag (O_o getting confused -__-' )
I think i'v heard of Jack Rose... can't find it on youtube or JaME though...

Ah I'm not familiar wit Tokyo either. All I know about the streets is what my brother told me after beeing there.
