Here is an old pic of me from the year 2005 where you can see Ash and Misty with 16 (Ash) and 17 (Misty) years old ^^ (I have always been angry about the fact that Ash is younger than Misty, but what should I do?? XDXD). So here it is ^^In my biggest German FanFic "Misty's Goodbye" the two have these ages ^^

Both are ten... In the original, it's stated that Misty is 10, and not 12, like some people think.

Did they say that in the original? Oh well, a few months shouldn't matter. My girlfriend was born on 30 March 1993 and I was born on 28 July 1994, so the age difference is one year and almost four months. That age gap is clearly bigger than between Ash and Misty, and that age gap isn't an issue at all. Ash and Misty are the same age, that's already nice.

Isn't Ash older by three months or something? If Ash was bin on May 22nd, Misty's birthday would be August 22nd. Tomorrow is Misty's birthday if I am correct.
