Hey guys
Finally I can show you the picture to *OneWingedMuse 's Song-Contest.
I worked long on this and I have to say I like it a lot.
It's to Daughtry's Song „What about now“ (also I think it fits with the song of Disney's Brother Bear 2 „It will be me“ by Melissa Etheridge
I love these two songs together)So I have also some sentences to the single situations on the picture:
Kanto: „What is this pain I feel inside my heart?“
Hoenn: „Without you I'm not complete“
Hands on the top: „I was a fool of losing you“
Hands on the bottom: „There is no need to fear anymore“
Sinnoh: „What about now?
What about today?
What if you're making me
all that I was meant to be?
What if our love
never went away?
What if it's lost behind
words we could never find?

So, this is only a little bit to understand what I thought about when I drew the picture and a also a little bit you can think your own parts as story to the picture
It's the first time I made rain... How long am I drawing now? 9 1/2 years?? SHAME at me!
And it's the first time I have all clothes in one picture *o*

First of all: Thanks a lot for writing me this critique. It means a lot to me.
I have to admit I'm speechless. It really fills my heart with warmth reading something like this. I always wanted to make people happy with my pictures, amaze them, make it some kind of interesting (although I'm mostly doing couple-pictures only) - I only want people to enjoy what I'm doing.

This is a beautifully powerful art piece which captures a wide range of emotions between Ash and Misty. I am particularly drawn to the colouring technique which is smooth yet strong - outlining realistically the details of the folds of clothing (particularly the fabric clenched between fingers on the far left and right sides of the image) and picking out the textures of the hair and depth in the eyes.
The composition of the images shows the passage of time and the emotions felt during that time well. In particular, the Johto related image with its slightly faded look gave me the impression of distance - not just physically but also emotionally - between the featured characters.
I am also fascinated with how the artist has been able to convey the appearance of water drops in this medium, something that isn't easy to do.
As a final thought, a darker-coloured background instead of the white one may have contributed to heightening the emotion further.

I feel honored you think this what you wrote here. It was always my aim to create such pictures, which can give the watchers the same emotions the characters feel inside the picture. Happiness, pain, sadness - everything. So thank you, it makes me really happy ;__;
Also I have to thank you for the tipp. You said, you would've chosen a darker color then the white one. - I was thinking about it, but I was too afraid, the picture looks "too full" when I do it. So I let it white. But next time I'll try your version

It's hard to right a 'critique' on a deviation that does so many things right as this one.
Simply looking at this deviation as line art is is fantastic. The layout and symbolism with Ash and Misty shows a level of true artistic professionalism rarely seen among fan artists. The expressions on their faces show more than anything seen from the characters in the actually anime, and show the artists true thoughts on the relationship between them. Coupled with the character pulling at their own chests, the emotional tension bleeds from this deviation
The traditional coloring flawless. Dynamic highlights and shadows,Contrasting colors, and a wild variety of hues, make this a joy to look at. Coloring overall shows a true mastery of the traditional artistic medium
It's often quite difficult to be truly original with fan art, but the layout and artistic vision of the piece show what can be done when artist uses what their talents to embellish a popular series and pairing.
What comes out is a artistic piece that is gorgeous visually, emotionally, and artistically.

I hate to be a jerk and all, dont take this the wrong way or anything...it came out AMAZING, but why does misty only have suspenders in the upside-down picture of her?

Hm, okay, I looked at the picture once more but I can't follow you, to be honest .__. She has her first top and Outfit of season 1-5 and it had suspenders. I don't know why. Maybe you think it because of you only can see the half of her, so you, of course, also can only see one suspender.

Yes, because the suspenders she only wear in sesaon 1-5 and also that top. In the middle picture she wears the Hoso(=Special)-Outfit and when she stands against Ash she wears the Hoenn-Outfit.
