This costume was the one I most wanted to make since I discovered THE iDOLM@STER through its anime adaptation. Chihaya isn't the typical character I instantly like, but her determination, her soft side and her background made me fall in love with her. The "Nemuri Hime" scene won my heart and finally made her mai waifu <3 I didn't have a specific date to make this costume, but when Toshiyuki Kubooka, iM@S' character designer, was announced as a guest at a convention, it was decided! He was really surprised and pleased to find a handful of iM@S fans in such a faraway country as Spain. I was happy myself with a photo with him and having my game signed *^o^*

I knew this costume would be more difficult than what I expected: construction was sometimes a little bit tricky, but what was really time-consuming were all the little details. Top, skirt, boots and wristbands are made from confetti dot lined with pink stretch, and all the white and grey parts are also stretch. 3 mt. of white cotton bias and 1 mt. of white fringe were used as well. The wings/birds in her collar are made of golden vinyl.

All 23 buttons were painted with gold spray and the cross was later added in a different shade in each one of them by hand. The belt was originally green, and was also spray painted gold. I also changed its buckle (which was also painted gold) and made eyelets in it. Her necklace was also hand-made, with all three ornaments painted by myself.

The boots are lousy as hell: the base was a pair of white boots modified so they looked more like pumps, and the leg of the boot was patterned, sewn and finally glued to them. They close with invisible zippers, but they don't stay in place and I had to put them up after a few steps T_T I wanted to add a rubber strip to prevent that, but I realized it at the con when it already was too late.

Initially, I was going to use the same wig I used in my previous closet Chihaya costume (which incidentally is the base wig for my future Judith from Tales of Vesperia), but on second thought I didn't want to tangle it and so I bought a new one only for Chihaya. I know the color is not as faithful as the previous one (Chihaya's hair is more of an electric blue), but that one didn't suit me very much and I prefer less bright colors. It was bough of UK-based store Coscraft, which sent it to me fast as lightning. It's very thick and beautiful! The only styling needed were cutting it short and trimming the bangs :3
