Description Titanoboa was the largest snake to ever exist. This constrictor was bred by InGen on Isla Sorna and was set to feature in a reptile house exhibit in Jurassic Park. They were kept in a temporary reptile building on the edge of the Sorna swamps, but when InGen abandoned Isla Sorna they were set loose in the swamps along with the other reptiles. The swamp is the perfect environment for them. The waters are kept warm by the heat of the mantle plume that pushed Isla Sorna and the five deaths out of the pacific millions of years ago. The steamy swamps are some of the most dangerous places to explore on Isla Sorna...

I can imagine a T-rex chasing a group of survivors to the edge of a swamp and suddenly stop dead in its tracks, turn around, and leave. They are confused for a moment but foolishly go where the rex dared not... The swamp is thick, the water warm, heated by the ancient magma plume that pushed Isla Sorna out of the ocean millions of years ago. InGen had tapped into this heat, and built a geothermal power plant nearby. The survivors wade waist deep through the warm murky waters, hoping not to wake a Deinosuchus basking on a nearby sand bar. Little do they know, the sleeping Deinosuchus is the least of their worries, compared to the monstrous serpent that has made its' home in the flooded tunnels beneath the power plant...

Well, Deinosuchus was featured in the SEGA Arcade game... so I will also be including it in the InGen Files.

Little advice if you don't want us to use, maybe you should change the option of letting people download the picture.

I don't want people to copy/paste my drawings and claim that they did them (As I have seen many examples of this on Deviant art), if that's what you mean by " if you don't want us to use". But I'm not sure I follow, the option to download this image is available, just click the download button on the right side panel...

Yeah I know, but there is an option in the edit button.

What are you on about? You can already download this image, just click the 'download' button. There is nothing here I need to edit...

I was looking through old conversations and came across this little exchange. I see now what you meant, and it seems I didn’t explain things clearly enough.

Your original comment of; β€œif you don't want us to use, maybe you should change the option of letting people download the picture.” is in reference to my copyright notice.

I don’t mind if people want to download things. That’s fine. They can download my images and save them in a desktop folder to browse through whenever they feel like it, or (if they ask me for permission) they can color my drawings and upload them (as long as they give me credit for the line art in the description) – as you have done here; [link] and here; [link] with my Gallimimus sketch.

The reason for the copyright notice, is not to prevent people from downloading my work – but a warning for people to not copy/paste my work, or simply trace over it and then upload the result as their own (neglecting to give me credit). I have seen many cases of this on deviant art and elsewhere, and that’s not cool.

I hope this makes things clear now.

Oh that explains a lot, I've had experiences like that before and my stuff was taken down.

I see where you're coming at though. Thank you!

Not the first time people have had to deal with oversized snakes (Anaconda), but this time, the snake is supposed to be oversized. Awesome.

Thanks!

I was actually going for that. Jurassic Park meets Anacondas; The Hunt for the Blood Orchid.

The warm swamps around the geothermal power plant on Isla Sorna just became a whole lot more dangerous...

Awesome! How big of dinosaurs could it tackle?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 2

Miyess In reply to Alloclaw [2012-05-17 14:57:15 +0000 UTC]

Probably in the size range of a full grown JP Dilophosaur (6 meters)... They're probably not going to be able to swallow a T-rex whole, but they're aggressive enough to take on a rex if it enters their territory, coiling around its' torso and neck - strangling the life out of it.

QueenSerenity2012 In reply to Miyess [2014-04-04 05:46:03 +0000 UTC]

In JP maybe, but the real Titanoboa probably couldn't take anything bigger than a water buffalo. Anacondas are already painfully slow, and their maximum prey size seems to be capybara-human sized prey. Titanoboa really wasn't too much bigger but odds are it'd be far too slow to deal with something as quick and deadly as a big theropod.

Agree 100%, and this a beastie that certainly needs to be in JPIV or at least be in some kind of movie.
