Why Top Secret?

Miyess In reply to 123456789JD [2018-01-22 16:49:18 +0000 UTC]

Possibly something to do with it being the first hybrid InGen was messing around with. It is a mix of different spinosaurids. The head is Baryonyx-like, the leg proportions are Suchomimus, the sail is not the right shape for Spinosaurus but it is definitely bigger than that of Suchomimus, the overall size is more in line with Spinosaurus but it also has crocodilian features (the eyes, the scutes along the neck and back, the attitude), and like all JP dinosaurs - frog DNA...

As a result it was deemed too dangerous for the park.

That would also explained why it wasn't on their list! ^^

Miyess In reply to RaynalJacquemin [2018-07-24 13:53:51 +0000 UTC]

Yes, repairing dinosaur DNA with lizard, bird, and amphibian DNA to resurrect the animal for the park was one thing. But this crossed the line. It was quite literally a theme park monster, and they would have a hell of a time explaining that to a congressional hearing.

RaynalJacquemin In reply to Miyess [2018-09-02 16:56:38 +0000 UTC]

That didn't prevent them from creating the indominus rex and the indoraptor apparently

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Miyess In reply to RaynalJacquemin [2018-09-03 06:13:51 +0000 UTC]

That was later when the park was open and successful. This was at a time when InGen was operating in the shadows on a privately owned island where all operations were top secret. To hear they were resurrecting extinct animals would have been a surprise, but to hear they were breeding excessively aggressive hybrids would have resulted in calls to have them shut down. They could later get away with it under the illusion that park security was completely under their control. And even then there were people who weren't on board (Lowry, Owen to name a few)...

((((SPOİLERS, of course))))

I learned The Rexy is the same one with the first JP one; so yeah; they probably didn't bomb the islands.

Plus Jurassic World movie only follows Jurassic Park I; it completly ignores The Lost World and the Jurassic Park III (İe. the worlds most hated movie  )

Damn it !  So they really turned to Tyranno Smashes everything, Tyranno is Strongk and Undefeatable thing !

Well I hope another Theropod like Charcharadontasaurus Or Gigantosaurus gets More fans and Has a chance....

Personally I really Do 'feel' sad for the Spino.; Nazar İb. really killed the Dinosaur however several (Very Logical) antithesis and explanations about the animal's posture is explained.
He Did his mission and Slander the Animal... Damn TyranoFans spread anywhere...

I am sure We'll see Another J.W. movie where Spino. depicted as a Hippie & extremelly Dump/Duck like looking, very powerless Creature
And Another Tyranno kills it and eats... And everyone will be Happy & Satisfyed about it...

I really hope they made another Theropod Kill Rex.; İf they make Rex beat More gigantic Theropods I'll make anything to Protest the Series
However how much I like/d the First movie...

Wait you think all the dinosaurs on Isla Sorna have been wiped out by the US Army - where are you getting that information from?

Very Welcome !

And here

:  jurassicpark.wikia.com/wiki/Co…

They did the same on other islands

But I think its a Good thing; by that they can create more Accurate/Pure Dinosaurs

Miyess In reply to grisador [2015-05-05 13:15:48 +0000 UTC]

Nothing in the link you sent me to says anything about Isla Sorna being napalmed. They are talking about the bombing of Isla Nublar by the Costa Rican government (not the US army) to wipe out the source of the dinosaurs which were escaping the island and reaching the Costa Rican mainland - which was the ending of the first book and Jurassic Park: The Game (but NOT movie canon).

Isla Sorna was never napalmed, neither were any other islands... And the creation of more accurate dinosaurs was never the reason the park was destroyed in the first novel.

I think you need to read the books again. Same goes for that link you sent me to.

grisador In reply to Miyess [2015-05-06 12:03:47 +0000 UTC]

It says İsla Nublar is Destroyed Too

Well at least you agree on they Make More 'Pure' Clone's and Detroyed the older Froggy one's

I am talking about Movie Cannon; Jurassic World dinosaurs are more purer; probably because they use more Avian DNA on them :/

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Miyess In reply to grisador [2015-05-06 16:37:22 +0000 UTC]

What do you mean "Too"? Nublar was the only island that was ever destroyed! No other islands were bombed. Only Isla Nublar - and that's only in the novel (not the movies).

Isla Sorna is still intact (in both the novel and the movie universe) - it was never napalmed. You get that they are two different islands right? In your original comment you imply that Isla Sorna was destroyed. This is wrong. You are referring to the bombing of Isla Nublar in the novel. This doesn't apply to the movies. I honestly don't know how much clearer I can be.

Also, I do not agree that; "they Make More 'Pure' Clone's and Detroyed the older Froggy one's... So that the dinosaurs in Jurassic World can be recreated 'purer' with more avian DNA." How did you get that from my comment? I said the exact opposite - "...the creation of more accurate dinosaurs is not the reason the original park was destroyed".

You are mixing up movie cannon with novel cannon, confusing which island was bombed and why, and extrapolating from there to conclude that this is why some of the Jurassic World dinosaurs are more accurate (which they are not, but that's a whole other topic).

I don't know if you actually understood the narrative, because you seem to think the exact opposite of what the sources are saying;
The source says one island was bombed. You think all islands were bombed.
The source says nublar was bombed to stop the spread of dinosaurs off the islands. You think it was because InGen wanted to start fresh and make more accurate dinosaurs.
The source says it was the Costa Rican government that ordered the bombings. You think it was the US army. etc...

I'm not trying to be rude when I suggest you read the books and the link you sent me to again. No offense, but you just don't seem to understand the story.

grisador In reply to Miyess [2015-05-08 15:26:06 +0000 UTC]

Well; İn its wikipedia page it says (İts very complicated actually) İsla Nublar but it also says İsla Sorna (Somehow) 'effected' too.... Its very weird actually

Then Why ? They give no reasons; why they let all of those money go wasted ? I thought ıts because of Clone's being Chimera/UnPure beings; especially after see Jurassic World Clone's :/

(I also agree none of Jurassic World/Park dinosaurus aren't very 'Accurate' but they are Genetically Engineered Creatures anyway)

You are really a Good Explainer; Really !

I thank you for not being offensive; But this genre gets complicated after a little Dig

Miyess In reply to grisador [2015-05-11 01:48:27 +0000 UTC]

No Wikipedia does not say that. You just don't understand what you're reading and its starting to get annoying.

I gave you the damn reason twice in my replies above. The dinosaurs were breeding on Isla Nublar (the park) and escaping to the mainland (Costa Rica), so the Costa Rican government (the people who leased the island to Hammond in the first place) ordered the bombing of the park.

Got it?!

As long as you use it only as a reference (which means make your own spino based on this, not take this one and manipulate it in pivot), I don’t have a problem with that. However, I must insist on a credit note in the description of wherever you upload it, stating that you used my work as a reference, and a link back to here so people can see.

Also send me a link to the finished work, as I would be interested to see what you come up with...

Miyess In reply to Kaijurider24 [2012-08-20 03:24:40 +0000 UTC]

Thanks

I hate the idea some people keep promoting that the Spinosaurus was a mistake, and that InGen thought it was a Baryonyx until it outgrew the others and grew a sail on its back. So then they isolated it in an underground bunker! How ridiculous... They also imply that the one seen in the movie is the only one.

I think that is stupid. First of all InGen would know exactly where the amber/and bones came from in the case of Spinosaurus they would have came from Egypt or morocco NOT England or Spain which is where Baryonyx is from. So that would have been a clue. Also who the hell would they confuse the hatchlings for the same species?! Even juveniles of very closely related species (such as lions and tigers) don’t look the same at all. And though Spinosaurus is related to Baryonyx, it’s not that close. Spinosaurus is much more closely related to Irritator, or Angaturama. If they said that InGen scientists confused Spinosaurus with one of those, just on physical appearance, it wouldn’t be so bad, but still the hatchlings would look different without a doubt.

There is a much more plausible/obvious reason for InGen to keep the Spinosaurs under wraps (though certainly not in a bloody underground bunker!)...
