I really like the look, I've started to try doing Afros and curly hair recently. Lot of fun, but I usually try to get the overall silhouettes and some stray curls. Interesting take on this one, and the design of the rest of the character is a really nice balance of clean and sketchy.

Yep, they are very nice to draw, cause you can explore lots of shapes.
I think it is a good approach to focus on the silhouettes first then try some textures.

This laziness of hers was a clever mask, for Miranda kept all her energy coiled up inside her like a spring in a box.
She was a master swordswoman, in the old tradition of her family, and by the blood in her muscles, those were like steel cables.
Such was her skill that she could kill a man and sheathe her sword before the first drop of his blood hit the ground.
She had no need to pursue her opponents, for they could not touch her, and was instead more than happy to wait until they came to their slaughter.
This was the source and secret of her attitude

I'm not sure about the time it took, maybe 30 or 40 min
The lines definition and crosshatching takes more time.
