...I'm doing it wrong. *SOB*Okay, so at first this was like a doodle... and then I tried to add some fireworks to play around with lighting... and then I realized that it's really, REALLY hard D:
Actually to tell the truth, I want to include fireworks in a future drawing, but I wasn't sure how to make the lighting work so I wanted to practice first. But it's still so awkward!... >.<
To those amazing artists I admire who are watching me for reasons I can't comprehend: Can you give me any tips please?
P.S. Who here thought that I was going to draw something for Ichigo's birthday? To be honest, I was just too lazy to, hahaha... XD

Wow, this is great! Admittedly, the fireworks do look a little strange, but Ichigo looks fantastic You did a really good job with the lighting on his hair, I love how it has a blueish sheen on one side, and a yellowish sheen on the other

Lighting is pretty hard to do... usually I use either the dodge tool or mess around with filters on lighting effects. I'd try using those if your program has them

Unfortunately, Paint Tool Sai doesn't have those options and I can't be bothered with opening up another program to do it X___x Plus, I feel like I'm cheating if I use those tools so I'd rather draw the highlights myself XP

Very True...I only use those tools because I have no clue whatsoever on how to do highlights myself...Sorry I don't have any other tips. Though you might wanna try using a lighter version of the same color you want to highlight. If that makes sense.
