[STORY]

A lot of people were interviewed about if they believe in whole Yule Cat thing or not. While many didn’t believe or care or were occupied to do something else than chase the rumor around and investigate, some residents were clearly worried about this urban legend.
Devi and Moonbeam decided to go and use this opportunity to kidnap other pokemon for their trainer. This sly duo hid long in the shadows and bushes until they found their first targets - a yellow fairy pokemon and a furfrou.
Cinnamon and Valeria were waiting for their trainer in a little park close to a shopping center. Usually they would have accompanied their trainer, but this time he was buying some yule presents as well as new clothes. So the two show pokémon just waited patiently.
There was no-one around, because everyone was holiday shopping, and Cinna was getting a little bit bored. She was just about to suggest taking a walk to Valeria, when rustling in the bushes took her attention. She didn’t even have time to scream, when a huge, white gengar jumped out of the bushes and trapped her inside of a net.
Valeria jolted up and growled at the gengar, seeming more offended than angry. She asked what the gengar thought she was doing, but invincible force lifted her off the ground. The furfrou yelped in surprise and trashed about trying to get back down. A jirachi emerged out of the bushes, using telekinesis to keep the furfrou in the air.
“Easy as pie!” Devi celebrated as Moonbeam chuckled, “Let’s get back home before anyone sees us.”
The Pokémon Center was busy as usual, even on holidays. People and pokémon on Paradise island were not accustomed to the colder weather so there were many flu, fever and frostbite cases. Plague stepped out of the building carrying a box full of used bandages and Itch floated right behind him. The doduo splice walked behind the center where all the garbage was kept. As he was setting the box down he noticed someone walking down the street nearby. A couple of ghost pokémon, both of them carrying some other pokémon. The furfrou was making quite a commotion and it was obvious she wasn’t there by choice. The ghosts noticed Plague staring, waved at him smiling innocently and then hurried forward.
Itch was concerned but didn’t know what to do. He couldn’t leave the center but he also couldn’t leave others in danger. Luckily Plague made the choice for him. The doduo splice quickly took off his nurse hat and apron, left them on the ground and then ran after the other pokémon. Frostbite, Rash and Dengue were already helping in the center, so Itch decided to join Plague, floating after him as fast as he could.
A chase ensued. Devi and Moonbeam couldn’t just run home, because that would expose Elsi’s hideout. So they tried to outrun the chasing doduo splice and flabébe who was hanging onto its feathers for his dear life. The pursuit continued out of the city and through the forest as the air became colder. Little by little the ground became frosty until it started to be covered in snow.
All of the pokémon started to feel exhausted the longer they ran. Moonbeam asked if Devi just teleported them out of there, but they couldn’t get enough lead to stop, and Devi couldn’t teleport himself, let alone all four of them, while running. The yellow fairy noticed a cliff forward and screamed a warning, and both ghosts got just enough time to put on the breaks and stop right on top of the cliff. There was a steep slope down. Before the four could sigh in relief, the doduo jumped on the ghosts’ backs using pursuit. The kidnappers lost their balance and so did the doduo, and soon all five pokemon tumbled down the snowy slope. Only one who didn’t fall was the flabébe, who soon floated down after the other pokémon.
Down the hill, all the fallen pokémon were partially buried in the snow. Valeria was the first one to get on her feet. She got frightened by her appearance when she realized that her fur was all matted and snowy. She started to groom herself immediately. Cinnamon got her head out of the snow just barely. Luckily the flabébe offered to help her up with his tiny hands, and Cinna gladly accepted the offer.
Devi dug himself out of the snow, thinking about saying some choice words to that doduo. Right as he was opening his mouth, he noticed an entryway right in front of them.
“Wow”, he said, floating up, “Do you think this is the entry to the chasm where the Yule Cat lives?”, he asked rhetorically.
Moonbeam sat up rubbing the back of her head and mumbling something. The doduo also got up, shaking the snow off of his feathers. He looked at the entry vapidly, but he stepped a couple of paces towards it, seeming curious. In the background the yellow fairy and the flabébe asked the furfrou if they could stay close to her fur, where it was warm. The furfrou agreed begrudgingly.
“Hey, imagine this”, Devi talked to everyone, “If we found and caught the Yule Cat, team Ro- I mean, we would become famous!”
The speech didn’t seem to really inspire any of the pokémon, but Moonbeam stood up and agreed to investigate the entrance. The doduo didn’t say anything, but he walked into the entrance, looking around curiously. The furfrou and the flabébe just wanted to return home, but the yellow fairy was also curious about the Yule Cat and wanted to explore even a little bit. So, all six pokémon walked in the entry.
