Well, I've started up on a cosplay project again. If anyone cares, I'm going to SakuraCon 2009 in Seattle, Washington. This year I'm working on the Black Knight uniform for Kallen Kouzuki of Code Geass. This should be interesting because I can't sew worth crap and need to make 1) a headband, 2) a jacket, 3) shorts, 4) a hat, and 5) thigh-high boot covers.

Anyway, this is one of my props - probably my only prop - the activation key to Kallen's Guren. If you haven't seen Code Geass, it's basically a USB flash drive that turns on a giant fighting robot.

I used paper clay and molded it over a small flash drive to make this, and it was actually quite fun. There was a lot of carving and shaping (with a crappy paper pattern and a dull paring knife), sandpapering, and painting (with acrylics and then a sealant) . . . but it only took about two/two and a half hours to make. Also, the flash drive still works as if it was new!
