OHMIGOD, YES!!!!When I heard that were getting not one but TWO new metroid games, I flipped the fuck out. I was so goddamn happy when watching that trailer for the 3ds game. It's amazing enough that that Nintendo is finally giving the franchise some damn respect but the 3ds game is A PLATFORMING SIDE SCROLLER!!!!!! YES!!! Metroid fusion is my favorite game of all time and I always preferred the 2d metroids. But after Metroid prime 3, I figured any hope of getting another 2d metroid at this day and age would be impossible. So it's so satisfying to hear that the're making another proper game. The announcement of Prime 4 is pretty cool too but I never liked the prime game, though I am happy to see the series get another game in general.
I can't wait for this new game. Now nintendo just has to bring King K rool back into the donkey kong games and they'll have redeemed themselves.

Metroid is one of my favorite game series, (the other being Fire Emblem) I have almost every game ever released under the Metroid title:
Super Metroid
Metroid Zero Mission
Metroid Fusion
Metroid Prime (best in the series, except for no screw attack)
Metroid Prime 2 Echoes
Metroid Prime 3 Corruption
Metroid Prime Hunters (worst in the series)
Metroid other M (not as bad as everyone makes it out to be)
I am also curious to see if she will be able to work off this weight in time for the new games release.

I agree, Hunters gets WAY too much hate. Sure, the single-player campaign was somewhat underwhelming, but the fun multiplayer made up for it. Plus, it experimented with the ideas of multi-planet adventures and rival Bounty Hunters, both of which would be fleshed out further in Corruption.

I thought the gameplay was fine, it's just some of the choices they made really didn't sell it for me,
the direction they had Samus' voice actor take and the Authorization system stand out in particular.
Although now that "Samus Returns" shows that she's fine with swating things with her blaster,
I should probably watch what I say shouldn't I?

See that's the thing. Samus' voice is always everyone's main gripe but that has nothing to do with gameplay

There's actually a reason for few things:
The voice director told Jessica Martin (her Other M VA) to give a flat performance. Why? Apparently, Yoshio Sakamoto told her to do that to I think display the PTSD she was going through. And the monotone is only in the monologue, Samus is more emotive when she's actually speaking.
And the story? Nintendo's fault. Nintendo wanted it more story driven to appeal to Japanese audiences. Sakamoto agreed, and the story snowballed from there.
The Authorization Mechanic? ...Got me there.

I want to be excited, but first I need to be 100% assured that Samus is back to proper form {none of the "tiny and weak outside the suit" BS they've been pulling since Other M}, and that neither game unexpectedly makes her a secondary character in her own franchise like both Other M and Federation Force did.
Metroid Prime 4 is a nice big "fuck you" to Other M, at least, since it {and Yoshio Sakamoto} try to claim the Prime games never actually happened in canon. Other M also heavily contradicts stuff we learned about the Metroids in Metroid 2, so seeing Metroid 2 get remade and thus reinforce what it said before? Another "fuck you" to Other M. So at least one thing on the wishlist is checked off by these games, "No tribute paid to Other M/Further confirmation that Other M can't be canon". XD

Other M also established a trend of portraying Samus as a weak shrimp when she's not in the armor {seriously, the excuse for her gaudy heels in Smash 4 was even that she needs them to reach everyone else's power level, and they've expected us to believe she's 5-foot-nothing without the armor}, contradicted every other game's lore and didn't allow Samus to do anything that actually significantly affected the plot. Anything that doesn't follow those examples is doing a great job in my books.

I still didn't have a problem with how they handled samus and I think people shit on the game way too much for it, but I do think that Nintendo characters just shouldn't talk in general. It'd be weird to actually hear link or mario speak a full sentence.

That's something I can agree with. If a characters been largely voiceless for the longest time, why give them a voice all of a sudden?
Though I don't know if I'd say Mario is voiceless. He's spoken full sentences in official Nintendo games.

Sometimes it's necessary because everyone else in the game speaks. Like Final Fantasy crossover games, for example, would you really want everyone from games before 10 to just be speaking in text boxes with no actual voices? :V

Samus was always a deadly bounty hunter but she lacked that appearence of her true strength in clsoe combat. Now we finely get a taste of it... *spits out teeth* and IT HURTS! Q_Q

Definitely! I know this isn't Nintendo related, but also excited for Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy I saw the trailer yesterday, I and got really excited when they announced Crash's sister, Coco would be a fully playable character in the game. ^_^

Yeah it definitely looks cool but I won't be getting it for two reasons.
1. The game took WAY too long to come out. It was announced last year and they traded us with it way too long.
2. I played the demo and I fucking sucked at it. The depth perception of it was so weird to me.
