i can't remember the first time i saw this concept... but i had waited long enough to try it.so, here it is. my attempt at the five-handed hand.

This is a very interesting concept, and immediately grabs the eye. The hands are clear and detailed, and each hand pose is interesting and different. It's 'jump-off-the-page' interesting, and the dead-center positioning works for a subject like this. It makes up for the minor weaknesses, but I think a pinch more polish can make this much better.
The background being plain is fine, but I think going to the extreme--pure white background--would have been even better. The textures, color, and shadows only serve to distract and add a mundane element to a photo that's obviously going for a 'bizarre' and abstract feel. While the individual hand poses are interesting, having them complement each other or match in some way would have helped unify the whole thing and build off itself.
