I actually had a similar idea to this in both character and setting. Nice to see someone actually wrote it down!

Damn this is pretty well thought out! I've recently made the Earth-born avatar as a sudden case of being bored, but I might go into it more also the funny thing is that we both had the idea of the new Avatar being born between the 1980's/90's! XD

I think chances are that Korra could very well reach age 100.

Sorry for the double post btw, but, you're not the only fan who came up with the idea of an artificial Avatar.

I'm aware. and ever since the Vaaut/Raava thing from Book 2, it's actually possible now to get another avatar, though it won't be 'artificial' in a sense; just the evil opposite of the Avatar.

yep, though after a lot of thinking, I kinda like the Vaatu/Raava route a lot more; makes me wish that were the storyline of the Fire Avatar in the last Avatar series of the whole franchise

Very nicely done. The words are a little hard to see against the page though.

yep, she will, and by that time, technology would be advanced enough to create an artificial avatar.

On the whole time line thing ... ATLA all take their clothing from the 16 or 1700s as are the steam powered ships ... so you could say Victorian time period ... then it jumps to the roaring 20s ... I think Bryan and Mike just like the fancy times when technology is on the verge of changing in a major way ... so each avatar falls into a different technological age regardless of how long they live.

I second this. I especially love the part about how she prefers bending water instead of fire. In the second episode of LoK(I think) Tenzin said something like Avatars most often have trouble mastering control of the element most opposite their *personality* not their natural born element. So, for Aang it was Earth, since he didn't *seriously* want to fight(i.e. stand his ground, which is what Earth is. Solidity.). For Korra, it was Air, since she's a more pugnacious type, and Air is peaceful. So if Rani is more of the peaceful, non-confrontational type, then it makes sense that she'd be more comfortable with Water, which moves and flows around any obstacle it faces, rather than fire, which tackles it head-on.

yes, that's what i'm after here. i figured it'll be quite funny that if Korra, a water tribe Avatar, just loooves using firebending, then the Fire Nation Avatar would love to use waterbending.
you're right about the personality too; Korra was hot-headed and aggressive, so she uses firebending more, whereas Rani, is level-headed and patient, so she uses waterbending. but Rani is not as pacifist as Aang; Aang values life so much that he had no heart to kill the most dangerous megalomaniac of the Avatar world, whereas Rani may be a gentle Avatar, but when push comes to shove, she may get down and dirty, and do drastic measures to ensure world balance.

Yea, and that's why I thought that she would still prefer water, the slightly-less-peaceful-than-air element. lol
