Princess Zeiryuu of the Fire Nation (she'll turn AU by the time Korra arrives, but who cares)

she is the first Maiko princess [link] and the older sister of Princess Suzaku by 5 years[link] she is way better in Firebending compared to her younger sister, but nevertheless loves Suzaku very much. is a very good and caring sister, and sorta spoils her younger sibling. like Zuko, she took an interest in swords, but preffered the single swords over dao swords, since swordsmanship is just her backup defense;relying more on firebending in fighting. she is sort of a prodigy, like her aunt, but she and her family are in denial about it.

i changed her name from Zakura to Zeiryuu because i want to parallel the two siblings to the two most influential father figures in Zuko's life: Uncle Iroh and Firelord Ozai. Zeiryuu here is the first born with the birthright and the excellent bending talent, and her name is derived from the chinese azure dragon of the east, which is a nod to Iroh, the dragon of the west. whereas Suzaku, is the second born, with average bending talent, but is more proficient with weaponry than Zeiryuu, and ended up being firelord [link] and her name is derived from the chinese flame bird, which is a bit like the Phoenix, hence, a nod to Ozai the Phoenix King. but unlike the two brothers, the sisters care for each other very much, especially Zeiryuu, who was aware that her younger sister resents her a bit, due to her natural talent. so Zeiryuu makes it a point to quell these thoughts out of her by showering her with lots of love

admittedly, i referenced her pose from Final Fantasy 13's lightning [link] (Grid_Series) because, i find it cool and fitting for her, and this was originally drawn on paper with pen and ink, with pencil rendering for my architecture class. i got 27/30 for this
and i still suck at backgrounds. oh well.

done in pen and ink, renderred with staedtler 4b pencil. edited in photoshop.
