Description
Out of every character I created, Agent 42X (pronounced forty-two X), has been my favorite and most popular. I've worked on Agent 42X for 15 years and since that time, have created over 12 issues and 5 books relating to the character.

HISTORY:
Jonathon Slade works for the Havoc Unit, a government agency that specializes in covert operations. During a retrieval mission, Slade was severely wounded and became part of the Genesis program; enhancing parts of his body with metallic alloys and supplying him with automation technology.

Shortly after his remedies, Slade lost his fiancee during an assassination attempt meant for him. With a guilt too strong to handle, Slade attempted to come to grips with his past, while uncovering a conspiracy behind the truth of his fiancee's "death," and the men responsible for it.

During the Sigma Project operation, Slade finally located his fiance, Jennifer, who had been taken by the Shadow Society for testing using alien technology. As Slade was releasing her from her cryopod chamber, Slade’s archenemy, Reeves (Syndicate), attacked Slade and then shot Jennifer through the cryopod glass, giving him time to escape as Jennifer died in Slade's arms.

With his fiance dead, Slade left the unit to mourn her loss, but it was only a matter of time before the unit requested his aid. Slade rejoined the unit knowing that members of the society were still a threat, and that Reeves was still active.

A short time later, the Government asked Slade to help them oversee a new meta-human threat (individuals with dangerous powers). Slade agreed and is now the governments covert meta-human hunter.

POWERS / SKILLS:
42X is a master hand-to-hand combatant and experienced in multiple arsenal and firearms. He possesses automation technology that creates a jetpack for limited flight, a face-plate with IR sensor, and wrist mounts that can configure itself to a shield, blades, or grappling hook. Slade also has a low level healing ability.

PERSONALITY: A level-headed agent who cares about those close to him. Since he has been working for the government for some time, he's used to accepting missions and following orders. However, he tends to rebel when he disagrees with his higher-ups. 42X (pronounced forty-two ex, and also known as Jonathan Slade) is not a slacker and will go to any lengths in accomplishing his goal. Slade is a natural leader when needed, and has proven to be a trustworthy ally who will put himself in harms way before letting others be harmed. While he is mostly serious during missions, Slade can be sarcastic and possesses a wry sense of humor.

NOTE: It's important to note that his face plate and glider are part of his uniform, and cannot be used when out of uniform. His wrist gauntlets however are always a part of him, due to his metallic alloy casings on his arms. Also, his metallic alloy casings are permanently covered over his arms due to a serious burning incident - he is NOT robotic. Due to 4th degree burns he received during a past mission, the Havoc Unit scientists decided on a new treatment to save Slade by grafting an untested metallic alloy to his arms and upper torso. The wrist gaunlets on his arms however, contain automation technology which helps it transform into weapons (such as his wrist baldes, grappling hook, shield, etc.)
