Description These are individual little studies I did of the Dutch Shepherd. All are referenced from photographs I took of my own dog. Each one took approximately 2-3 hours total. Brindle is such a crazy coat pattern to draw. My next challenge is to try again with traditional media... that will be rough.

I did do a bunch of Dutchies for the IB ... they all got accepted and then when FP merged into its current form Kah didn't transfer the newer images. So I have about a year and a half's worth of IB pictures that were in it and now aren't The IB is so messed up right now. I think I want to try my hand at drawing some long haired Dutchies next though.

I'd love to but since I already received an award for them making it in once I think I'd get in trouble. I sure wish I could use them without having to eat up my own bandwidth though : /

You're welcome! I know what you mean, I've tried many different ways and haven't been able to get a brindle pattern anywhere near as good as yours, lol.

Corgeous brindle coats! I'd like to draw a Dutch Shepherd one day but I'm really terrified about how the fur will eventually come out XD Really nice poses too!

Thank you Brindle is the most difficult pattern to draw in my opinion. It can be pretty tricky. The poses were all uh... inspired I guess you can say, by my Dutchie. I took a bunch of pictures of him running around the yard and drew from those.
