My wife and I discovered a Saturday afternoon drawing class put on by our local parks and recreation. We gave it a try today. The operation is bare bones. Just a few tables and chairs that were already part of the rec building equipment, and one set of work lights from Home Depot. Not much of a turnout sadly...only four people including ourselves, and everyone older than my wife and me. Our model was this older gentleman sporting an un-lit cigar and a Greek Fisherman's hat to make the drawing experience more interesting I guess. The class is four hours which is nice. I did two drawings. The first of which was a total disaster...really BAD! I have not drawn from life in years! But my second drawing came out rather well I think. Verithin colored pencilslack,White and Red and white W&N cake watercolor on Kona Classic Field Journal toned paper, made by Hand-Book. I had a good time. I will probably try to do this regularly.
