Burn in a da hell you sum a num botch! Okey dokey!
Well you all voted for it on the last classic NES Game Poll and here it is, the original Super Mario Bros.
Just like with past poll winners I decided to do the final boss battle scene with Mario vanquishing Bowser into the lava pit in the last world castle to save Princess Peach.
I decided to go with the established colors of the characters from the sequels rather than the original color pallets from the original NES game since I felt they were too simplistic and would have blended in too much with the colors I planned for the scene.
In case you never played the original in every Bowser battle Mario has to make it past him as he stands atop a suspension bridge, grab a golden battle axe and slice the support chains to the suspension bridge and send Bowser into the lava pool below.
I wanted to capture what I had hoped the old 1990s live action Super Mario Bros movie would be like and render what I wished the movie had shown as the ending rather than the steaming shit pile we got instead.
A grizzled but intense Mario holding Peach tight as they both look down at the defeated monster that held her prisoner and put Mario through hell.
Since Bowser doesn’t die from all his lava baths in the game series I figured the stuff doesn’t kill him but it probably hurts like hell and he screams and thrashes around in agony. I think this would give Peach a sense of smug satisfaction at seeing her captor suffering this fate.

Oh wow, look at all those details and colors, shading and more. I love how you have the lava redness showing on their shoes, especially Peach's heels. Her expression is wonderfully suited for this moment, shadows are spot on and so is the details of the lava and Bowser's scales. Brave!

Now you see why it took so long
Bowser took the longest to get right of the three figures because I wanted him to look evil and threatening like an actual dinosaur/turtle monster.

I was originally going to do a mini comic of Steven Segal as Mario holding the ax over the chain yelling, "This is a for my brudder! FUCK A YOU AND A DIE!" and then he chops the chain and sends him into the lava

I only wish I had that kind of power. Can barely break a kit kat in half. Most likely, it's nearly impossible to watch. I tried once and it only lasted less than 10 minutes I couldn't do it. Rifftrax was the only way I could watch any of it.

The 90s TMNT movies were campy but at least they were fun to watch. These Bay turtles look really off putting and disturbing and the films are just unfunny explosion fests.

The Bay turtles look like they have down syndrome on top of being mutated turtles. On top of this Splinter is just fucking gross looking. He always looks wet and smelly. I mean yeah they live in the sewers but still their lair was supposed to be clean like an actual apartment and Splinter was very into neatness.
Also he keeps throwing Megan Fox in as April O'Neal and she looks nothing like the character and has all the acting ability of a plank of wood.

Yeah they went more for the disturbing look rather than sort of fun looking. That works for the villains but when they make the heroes looks as bad or worse than them it distracts from how bad the villains are supposed to look

No but that doesn't mean shit. I found Liz Vicious attractive, Tera Wray, Elizabeth Montgomery, Vampira, Elvira, lily munster, Dita Von Teese, etc. I just never got the huge deal made over her because I never thought she was attractive.

I think my problem with her is she's like an empty shell. Like no emotion seems to escape her in anything she does. I know they make jokes about Kristen Stewart being emotionless but I find Megan Fox to be a robot. She's literally more robotic than Soundwave. Like his voice could come out of her and it wouldn't be a mismatch at all
