Oops! Sorry Maria! Haha. Amy was cutting and pasting from your post and I had missed the "snip" part of it. I didn't THINK it looked like her style. Anyway glad to have found you here on deviantart!

Hi Amy! I saw you posting about this in the shows yahoo mailing list. Very cool! I don't think I had seen your watercolor work before.

I love the unusual angle and how you have placed her to the side - it adds to the drama of the painting. She may seem passive, but the striking colouring of her clothes contrasts wonderfully with the barren snowy landscape. Lovely job!

Very nice! I really like how the picture is turned! Also skillfully done.

The Dutch angle looks great; forces one to take a closer look. I like the detail on her dress and the overall figure; the bird looks a little stiff, but that could have a reason.
(If it isn't already obvious, I have a bit of an obsession with the word 'oblivion'.)

Thanks! I love the word too, it sounds exactly like the concept it describes... Did that make sense? Nope... Oh well...

It really does...another one of my favourites is 'ludicrous'. So much fun to say.
Have you ever found words that fit their meaning? Ex.--'reiterate' reiterates (it doesn't need the re-; 'iterate' means the same thing), and 'sesquipedalianism' is a long word that replaces a bunch of shorter ones. I'm looking for more.

The bright colors of the woman's clothing really make her stand out against the bleak background. Her feet must be really cold, walking barefoot in snow. The dead bird leaves me wondering if she killed it or if it was already dying and she's trying to nurture it.

This is wonderful! The angle makes it really interesting. And she really stands out compared to the blues of the background. Great work!

Thanks! I've always wanted to play with this kind of perspective.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep. I like the snow... the skirt.. the girl.. pretty much everything. Haha. She's pretty. I can't tell what her emotion is though. I like how there's blood on her hands and skirt. Very good job. Nice and sad.

Well, you're supposed to wonder.

Is she supposed to be sad, because somehow I got the feeling the bird died out of necessity in this painting. But it could just be my interpretation. I love it, but I love all your stuff... I'll go cry in jealousy now.

That's beautiful. I agree with with ~ kiero , the skirt is gorgeous. I might kill for one like that. Poor birdy. Maybe if the girl's eyebrows were a little more furrowed she'd have a stronger appearance of sadness. For a future work or something. This one is gorgeous though.
