Why's Adam referring to Max as "boy"? It's kind of weird since he too is a boy. Maybe "brat", "runt", or "kid" would fit better. Also, noticing a lot of sentences getting interrupted when an event happens. Maybe tune it down a bit so the reader will know what the character is gonna say, I mean you can do it with obvious or short lines.
